Strengthening foreign information in ethnic minority areas

In recent years, foreign information work associated with propaganda and dissemination of legal education has been one of the key tasks, effectively implemented in many forms in border areas and areas with a large population of ethnic minorities.

Dak Lak province has 44 ethnic minorities living together, accounting for 25.4% of the province's population (839,909 people), of which the Ede are the largest (accounting for 12.93%), the rest are the Nung, Tay, M'nong, Mong, Gia Rai ethnic groups...

The locality has determined that ensuring access to information and improving legal knowledge for ethnic minorities is a key factor for socio -economic development and maintaining security and order in the area. Departments, branches and localities have implemented many synchronous solutions to improve the effectiveness of foreign information work, especially in border areas and ethnic minority areas. Propaganda activities are carried out flexibly and in diverse forms.

Ia Lop is a border commune located in the West of Dak Lak province, with a 1.6 km long border, adjacent to Noong Kho Lac commune (Co Nhec district, Mondulkiri province, Kingdom of Cambodia), the proportion of ethnic minorities accounts for more than 50% of the population.

Besides, the dissemination of legal education is one of the important tasks, contributing to improving knowledge and awareness of law compliance for people, especially ethnic minorities, which has been implemented by authorities at all levels in many forms and achieved many positive results.

Typical activities include organizing conferences to disseminate and thoroughly understand the Law and the new Resolution of the 15th National Assembly; online competitions on learning about the law; online propaganda through the electronic information page, Zalo Official page; maintaining and promoting the effectiveness of 80 legal bookcases in extremely difficult communes, border communes, and safe zone communes. These bookcases are regularly reviewed and updated, creating favorable conditions for ethnic minorities and people at the grassroots to access the law. The work of disseminating and educating the law in recent times has not only improved the knowledge of cadres and civil servants but also contributed to ensuring the right to legal information of people of all ethnic groups, helping people to raise their awareness and sense of law compliance.

In addition, legal aid work continues to be improved in quality, with special attention paid to beneficiaries such as the poor, meritorious people and ethnic minorities living in remote areas and areas with particularly difficult socio-economic conditions.

In addition, communication activities on legal aid for ethnic minorities are regularly carried out through many information channels, thereby helping people easily connect and access services.
