The ceremony was attended by Counselor Bui Thi Hue, governors and deputy governors of many provinces in Northeast Thailand, representatives of the Chinese and Lao consulates general in Khon Kaen, and a large number of Vietnamese expatriates from all over Thailand. In his opening remarks, Mr. Tran Thanh Trung, Head of the Vietnamese Consulate General in Khon Kaen, said that this year's National Day celebration on September 2nd also marks the 55th anniversary of the implementation of President Ho Chi Minh's will and the 55th anniversary of his death. For the past 55 years, President Ho Chi Minh's testament has always been a guiding light and a banner uniting the strength of national unity, inspiring and instilling in the entire Vietnamese people an unwavering determination and strong belief in the great strength of the Vietnamese nation, the power of justice and truth—nothing is more precious than independence and freedom—to work together to build a more prosperous and beautiful Vietnam, as beloved President Ho Chi Minh always hoped. Mr. Tran Thanh Trung expressed his immense joy and pride in noting that over the past year, the strategic partnership between Vietnam and Thailand has continued to develop in depth, quality, and effectiveness. Thailand is a friend and an important strategic partner of Vietnam in the region, and the first ASEAN country to establish a strategic partnership with Vietnam, and also the only country with which Vietnam has a joint government meeting mechanism.
Economic, trade, and investment cooperation has achieved outstanding results, becoming a highlight in the current bilateral relationship within the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). Thailand is Vietnam's largest trading partner and the ninth largest investor among 140 countries and territories investing in Vietnam, with a total registered capital of nearly US$14 billion. Cooperation in culture, tourism, education and training, and people-to-people exchanges has developed strongly, contributing to increased mutual understanding between the two countries. The Vietnamese community in Thailand, with over 100,000 people, is supported by the Thai government, creating favorable conditions for its positive contributions to Thailand's development and serving as an important bridge connecting the people of the two countries.

peace , stability, and development in the region and the world. On this occasion, Mr. Tran Thanh Trung also expressed his deep gratitude and sincere thanks to the King, Queen, and members of the Royal Family, the Government, and the people of Thailand for their continuous support and assistance to Vietnam, as well as their support for the development of Vietnam-Thailand relations.
Expressing his honor and joy at attending the ceremony, Mr. Jirasak Seehamat, Deputy Governor of Khon Kaen Province, highlighted the long-standing historical relationship and close ties, like brothers and neighbors, between the people of Thailand and Vietnam. He stated that Khon Kaen is currently one of the localities with a large Thai-Vietnamese population in Thailand, where Thai and Vietnamese citizens live together harmoniously and happily within a shared cultural tradition. Mr. Jirasak affirmed that since the official establishment of
diplomatic relations, Thailand and Vietnam have always been good friends, cooperating to build friendship, creating practical benefits, and sharing joy and happiness. In particular, in Khon Kaen, where the Vietnamese Consulate General is located, cooperation, exchange, and academic collaboration between localities in Northeast Thailand and provinces and cities in Vietnam have taken place continuously and regularly, contributing to promoting increasingly good and substantive cooperation in all fields between the two countries. On the occasion of the 79th anniversary of Vietnam's National Day, on behalf of the government and people of Khon Kaen province, Mr. Jirasak also extended his best wishes for the friendship and cooperation between the two countries to develop sustainably, prosperously, and successfully in all fields. In the warm atmosphere of celebrating the nation's Independence Day, the distinguished guests and overseas Vietnamese enjoyed dishes with the flavors of their homeland and sang songs praising President Ho Chi Minh and the country.
