God of Wealth knocks on the door, episode 812: The broom-binding group of the blind in Thuan Loc town is determined to unite and firmly escape poverty.

There are people who are born without seeing the blue of the sky, but in their hearts there is always a different color shining - the color of determination. In Loc Thanh hamlet, Thuan Loc commune, Vinh Long province, there is a group of people like that. They not only tie brooms with dry grass, but also tie up faith, tie up hope for their own lives.

This week, the God of Wealth (played by Dinh Toan) is captivated by the unique broom-selling calls of a couple (played by Le Trang and Huynh Nhu). But little does the God of Wealth know that behind this lies a highly sophisticated broom-selling "scheme" to "steal" the gold from the treasury god's bag.

After realizing he had been deceived, the God of Wealth decided to use the "hoist by your own petard" tactic to confront the Earth God and his wife and uncover their motives for selling brooms and defrauding customers. Exposed, the couple confessed and explained that their thoughtless actions stemmed from good intentions to help the visually impaired members of the broom-making group overcome their difficulties.

Starting from a small class, they have grown into a shared community. In 2024, Ms. Vo Thi Cam and Mr. Tran Van Trung, former officials of the Association of the Blind in Binh Dai district, were enrolled in a grass broom-making training course organized by the Provincial Vocational Training Center for People with Disabilities.

After learning the trade, Mr. Trung and his wife consulted with the Provincial Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs and the Association of the Blind to open a vocational training class in making grass brooms for visually impaired people in the locality.

In the small house, 10 students sat around bundles of cotton grass, listening with their ears and feeling with their hands. No one could see the finished product, but everyone felt a surge of joy at having created a complete, useful item with their own hands.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Be shared: “We were so happy to learn the broom-making craft because before, we only relied on our relatives, being a burden to them. Now, with our own hands and strength, we can create brooms, and we are very happy. For me, broom-making is like a walking stick, helping me move towards the future.”

This craft group was built on love and hardship, but its members never lost heart. Without a stable workplace or storage for the grass fibers, Cam's aunt kindly lent them a space in her yard for everyone to gather and make brooms.

These durable and beautiful brooms are crafted by the determined hands of visually impaired individuals.

Ms. Cam has actively sought orders from various agencies, departments, charitable organizations, schools, and temples to secure broom orders for her members, ensuring they have regular work. Each broom sells for 30,000 VND, yielding a profit of approximately 9,000 VND. The 1.5-2 million VND earned each month represents the result of hard work, calloused hands, and arduous, cautious steps taken through difficult times.

Ms. Le Cam Huong took on the responsibility of creating a market for the broom-making group.

Mr. Nguyen Van Chau shared: “My family is struggling and I have two children to support through school. I used to work peeling coconuts for hire, but my income was unstable, depending on whether there were coconuts in some months and not in others. Since learning broom-making, I have had an additional income to support my family. Hopefully, with this broom-making profession, my family will escape poverty sustainably.”

Because the members live in neighboring communes, the difficult travel conditions mean the group can only gather for a few days each month. When there are no orders, they still regularly make brooms, then ask Ms. Le Cam Huong, the only sighted member, to transport them around to sell.

Ms. Huong has a son with cerebral palsy and congenital blindness, so the brooms she sells also carry the love of a mother struggling every day to raise her child. On working days at the group, Ms. Cam mobilizes philanthropists to support the community by donating rice and vegetables so that everyone can cook and live together.

After each workday, the sounds of traditional Vietnamese music and singing from a few members would fill the air. The lyrics touched the hearts of the listeners. In that small space, one could clearly sense that their spirits had never been overwhelmed by darkness. And above all, it was a reminder that in life, there are lights that don't come from the eyes, but from a resilient heart and hands that know how to work honestly.

Despite the difficulties, the broom-making group has never lacked laughter.

Despite their optimism, the broom-making group is facing its biggest challenge: the worry of not having a place to work, as the yard is due to be returned to the landlord. Without that yard, the group will have no place to gather, no place to store materials, and no place for the visually impaired members to sit together and earn a living. Their limited capital restricts their ability to purchase materials, a constant concern for the group members.

And standing on the stage of "God of Fortune Knocks on the Door" this week, with the determination to fulfill their dream of reviving the broom-making craft, the team will overcome the challenging trials of God of Fortune. We invite viewers to watch "God of Fortune Knocks on the Door" airing at 7:15 PM on Thursday, December 11, 2025 on THVL1 and replayed at 4:30 PM on December 12, 2025 on THVL2.
