Earlier, on the evening of September 18th, Nguyen Manh Cuong, Head of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Department, and Ngo Minh Hai, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union, encouraged and wished the delegation a safe journey and successful completion of their mission.

Two teams, comprising 42 volunteers from various units and sectors, have set off to directly participate in disaster relief and support for people in Bac Ha district ( Lao Cai province ) and Chiem Hoa district (Tuyen Quang province).
Commending the sense of responsibility and willingness to volunteer without hesitation, Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong stated that these individuals represent the affection, warmth, and sharing spirit of the people of Ho Chi Minh City to their compatriots in the North who are suffering greatly from storms and floods.
According to Mr. Cuong, the next five days will be challenging. Therefore, the teams must ensure safety, coordinate with local forces, work with a spirit of sharing and volunteerism, and overcome all difficulties.
"There will be a lot of work needed to help people overcome the consequences of the storms and floods. But each of you must take great care of your health so that you can complete the assigned tasks," Mr. Cuong noted.

"We are ready to set off."
According to Doan Truong Quang, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union, the city's Youth Union has established 20 volunteer teams.
The teams will visit people, donate essential supplies, organize medical examinations and treatment, distribute medicine, and educate them about disease prevention and control.
The total funding for this campaign is over 5 billion VND . Of this, Tuoi Tre newspaper contributed 2 billion VND, sourced from reader donations , to support people in the North affected by Typhoon Yagi (Typhoon No. 3) in recent days.
Specifically, there are 4 teams for receiving and distributing relief supplies; 3 teams for transporting relief supplies; and 4 teams for medical examinations, treatment, dispensing medicine, and disseminating information on disease prevention to the people.
In addition, there are 4 teams repairing houses and schools, and 5 teams assisting with environmental cleanup and damage remediation after the storm and floods.
The "Vehicles of Love" carrying supplies departed on the evening of September 17th. Each team that set out today consists of 21 members with a diverse composition. The teams will carry out their mission from September 19th to 23rd (5 days).

Wife supports husband in helping to mitigate the consequences of storms and floods.
Regularly participating in the "Pink Holiday" volunteer campaigns, Dr. Dang Quang Toan (Department of Cardiology, Cho Ray Hospital) registered to join the trip.
"I am ready to go to the affected people, to make every effort to support healthcare and medical treatment after the significant impact of the recent storm and floods," said Dr. Toan.
Mr. Thieu Quang Thanh Sang (Red Cross Society of Binh Chieu Ward, Thu Duc City) said that as soon as he heard that the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union was recruiting volunteers, he immediately registered on the Go Volunteer volunteering portal.
"Knowing I registered, my wife was very supportive so that I could contribute my efforts to help people in the North overcome the consequences of the storms and floods. We hope to share some of the burden with them to help them get through this difficult period," Sang expressed.
