Government Inspectorate: Number of citizen consultations increased by over 20%.

(Chinhphu.vn) - The Government Inspectorate reported that compared to October, the number of citizen consultations increased by 20.7%, the number of people received increased by 49.7%, the number of cases increased by 22.4%, and the number of large groups increased by 56%.

According to the Government Inspectorate, in the work of receiving citizens, November recorded a clear increase in workload. Compared to October, the number of citizen receptions, the number of people received, the number of cases and the number of large groups all increased.

The Central Citizen Reception Office in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City received 431 visits with 1,178 citizens presenting 431 cases, including 161 complaints, 39 denunciations and 231 petitions and reflections.

Notably, there were 39 large groups of people coming to present their cases, mainly related to land reclamation. These were cases that had been considered and resolved by all levels, but citizens still disagreed and continued to re-file.

The Government Inspectorate said that compared to October, the number of citizen receptions increased by 20.7%, the number of people received increased by 49.7%, the number of cases increased by 22.4% and the number of large groups increased by 56%.

The Central Citizen Reception Board alone received 269 visits from citizens involving 269 cases (138 complaints, 32 denunciations, and 99 suggestions and feedback) and received 36 visits from large groups of people.

Regarding the work of urging the handling of complicated and prolonged complaints and denunciations, for the remaining cases out of 226 cases that have been escalated to the Central level in Hanoi city, The Department of Inspection, Complaints and Denunciations Settlement in the Northern region (Department I) continues to preside over and coordinate with the Department of Inspection, Complaints and Denunciations Settlement in the Central and Southern regions (Departments II and III) to urge localities to implement and advise and report to the Prime Minister on the situation and results.

With 210 complicated cases of security and order according to the Report of the Ministry of Public Security, 3 Working Groups of the Government Inspectorate continue to implement Plan No. 329/TTCP-KH, directly guide, urge, inspect and coordinate with localities to review each case to report the results to the Prime Minister.

At a recent meeting between the Government Inspectorate's leadership and heads of subordinate units to hear reports on November's work results and discuss December's work plan, the Chief Inspector of the Government Inspectorate, Doan Hong Phong, requested: Regarding citizen reception and handling of complaints and denunciations, continue to strictly and effectively implement the Law on Citizen Reception, the Law on Complaints, the Law on Denunciations, and the directives of the Central Committee, the National Assembly, the Government, and the Prime Minister.

The Central Citizen Reception Committee must strengthen coordination between central agencies participating in citizen reception at the Headquarters, ensuring that all arriving citizens are received and guided in accordance with regulations.

At the same time, it is necessary to promptly handle petitions and closely coordinate with relevant authorities and localities to grasp the situation of complaints and petitions, mobilize citizens to return to their localities, and contribute to maintaining security and order.

In addition, the entire sector continues to strictly implement the directives of the Standing Committee of the Party Central Committee in Document No. 53-CV/TW dated September 17, 2024, and Plan No. 1233/KH-TTCP dated June 13, 2024, on coordinating citizen reception to serve the Party Congresses at all levels, the 14th National Party Congress, the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term.

The Government Inspector General also noted that the Departments of local and sector management must proactively grasp the situation of complaints and denunciations and perform well the state management work in the assigned areas.
