Localities actively switch to tax declaration, Nghe An 'reaches the finish line' early

(Chinhphu.vn) - From training sessions at the commune level to working groups "knocking on every household's door", Nghe An has completed converting all business households with revenue of over 1 billion VND to tax declaration. The campaign ended after 30 days and nights, opening a period of more transparent tax management from 2026.

100% of households with over 1 billion VND have switched to declaration, eTax Mobile reached 99.99%

After 30 days of implementing the campaign to support the conversion of tax management models for business households, all households with revenue of 1 billion VND or more in Nghe An have completed the transition to the declaration method or converted into enterprises. This result was announced at the summary conference organized by the Nghe An Provincial Tax Department.

According to the Tax Department's assessment, the campaign was completed on schedule and exceeded expectations, thanks to the synchronous participation of tax officials, the coordination of departments, branches, local authorities, local police, technology solution providers and the banking system. More importantly, the campaign received consensus and active cooperation from the business community.

The results show that 100% of households subject to the mandatory use of electronic invoices generated from cash registers. The rate of households installing and using the eTax Mobile application reached nearly 100% (99.99%). Notably, all households with revenue of 1 billion VND or more have completed the conversion to the form of declaration or registration as enterprises. The remaining households are guided and committed to make the conversion from January 1, 2026 according to the general roadmap.

The campaign has also brought about clear results in handling tax arrears. Through review and supervision, Nghe An has recovered nearly VND15 billion, reducing tax arrears by 23% compared to the period before October 31, 2025.

Standing Vice Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee Bui Thanh An praised the efforts of the entire Tax sector and highly appreciated the coordination of authorities at all levels, local police and technology units. According to the provincial leaders, the above results demonstrate high political determination and synchronous participation of the government system, helping Nghe An reach the finish line early in the transformation roadmap.

To maintain the results, the provincial leaders requested the tax authorities to continue to organize support programs, provide detailed instructions on tax declaration and payment, and train business households on software usage skills, with the motto "Households understand - Households trust - Households convert". At the same time, departments, branches and local People's Committees need to closely coordinate in propaganda, review and verification of business information, ensuring conversion on schedule.

Quang Ngai and Quang Ninh join in with the support of banks

Not only Nghe An, many other localities are also accelerating the transformation of tax management methods for business households through cooperation with banks and technology partners.

In Quang Ngai, the Provincial Tax Department has signed a cooperation agreement with Agribank Quang Ngai and Kon Tum branches to support business households in converting to the method of declaring and implementing electronic invoices. According to the agreement, the parties will coordinate to guide tax policies, support the operation of electronic invoices (with codes and initiated from cash registers), and at the same time guide business households in performing accounting books and accessing appropriate financial service packages.

Quang Ngai Tax leaders said that Agribank's extensive network helps tax policies reach business households better, especially in rural areas. The bank also affirmed that the signing is the next step in accompanying the Tax sector nationwide, promoting revenue transparency and compliance with the law.

In Quang Ninh, the Provincial Tax Department has signed a cooperation agreement with Agribank, BIDV, Vietcombank, VietinBank and electronic payment units to support business households to switch from lump-sum tax to declaration. The program is part of the plan "60 peak days to support business households to convert tax models", focusing on providing technology solutions to help people use easily, reduce costs and improve the efficiency of electronic declaration.

To date, Quang Ninh has had 24,826 households switch to tax declaration, reaching more than 62% of the total number of business households in the area. Banks participating in the program committed to sending staff to directly support each household, instructing on operations and handling difficulties in the process of tax declaration and payment.

These efforts are an important preparatory step to be ready to eliminate lump-sum tax from January 1, 2026, towards a modern, transparent and effective tax management model.
