According to EVN's report, the Bac Ai Pumped Storage Hydropower Project is the first pumped storage hydropower project in Vietnam, with a scale of 1,200 MW, including 4 units, with a total investment of more than 21,100 billion VND. According to the plan, Unit 1 will generate electricity by the end of 2029, the remaining units will be completed in 2030-2031. Regarding site clearance, the project has a reclaimed area of 106.4 hectares, affecting 69 subjects, including 3 organizations and 66 households. To date, the locality has completed 2 compensation payments to 37 households and 2 organizations, with a total area of 82.3 hectares. Currently, the third phase, including 29 households, has been approved for a compensation plan of nearly 6.6 billion VND, but has not been able to pay due to procedures to transfer funds to the state budget. For some households whose land is located on Tan Tien Forestry Company's land and are not eligible for compensation, the construction unit has supported 1.35 billion VND for the people and has already paid.
Concluding the meeting, comrade Trinh Minh Hoang emphasized that the Bac Ai Pumped Storage Hydropower Project is a national key project, of great significance to the energy issue of the province and the region. Therefore, it is necessary to create all conditions for the project to be completed on schedule. The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Provincial Land Fund Development Center to urgently open an account at the State Treasury to receive compensation and support from EVN, and promptly pay to the remaining households. Regarding some other contents, comrade Trinh Minh Hoang directed to resolve them according to regulations and in the spirit of creating conditions and removing difficulties for the construction unit to implement the project on schedule.
