On May 14th, the Standing Committee of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union implemented Plan No. 73-KH/TWH dated April 21, 2023, on organizing the "Young Doctors' Day Following Uncle Ho's Teachings, Volunteering for Community Health" in 2023, with the theme "Digital Transformation in Volunteering for Community Health Care," and held the Central-level Launch Ceremony at 15/5 Square (Do Son District, Hai Phong City).

This is the 13th consecutive year the event has been held, aiming to strengthen the screening of chronic diseases and apply digital transformation in supporting and enhancing regular healthcare for the people. The event includes activities to honor revolutionary families, Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, families of martyrs, wounded and sick soldiers, and people in difficult circumstances; to strengthen solidarity and gather young doctors in community activities, contributing to the cause of protecting, caring for, and improving people's health; and to promote the role of youth and young doctors in the digital transformation of Youth Union and Association activities.

On May 14th, provincial and city youth unions and associations nationwide are expected to organize free medical examinations, treatment, and medication distribution programs, as well as social welfare activities for the community, with specific targets: 6,000 young doctors participating in the event; 50,000 people receiving direct medical consultations and examinations; 50,000 people receiving advice on using health care apps; 50,000 people receiving online health consultations; 100% of the population having access to information on preventing and controlling non-communicable diseases and post-COVID-19 symptoms; 10,000 volunteers receiving training on nutrition and disease prevention and control, disaster relief; and mobilizing members and young people to donate 10,000 units of blood…

Activities at this year's event include: volunteer medical examinations, screenings, and consultations; community volunteer activities; support for border and island areas; new party member recruitment; and donating equipment to support digital transformation in healthcare for volunteer medical examinations...

The highlight of this year's activities is the programs promoting digital transformation in healthcare, such as: deploying the Facare healthcare app, using online connected testing equipment, especially in the care of patients with hypertension and diabetes. The Central Committee of the Vietnam Young Doctors Association, together with philanthropists, Hoang Long Multi-Specialty Clinic and the Endoscopy Center - Hanoi Medical University Hospital, organized training and donated 10 sets of the latest generation ARIETT 650 Deepsight ultrasound machines, equipped with AI (artificial intelligence), worth 1 million USD, to 10 district-level general hospitals in the provinces and cities of: Son La, Yen Bai , Bac Ninh, Thanh Hoa, Quang Ngai, Can Tho, Hue, Soc Trang, Dak Lak, and Ha Tinh.

Within the framework of the Launch Ceremony, the Central Committee of the Association organized the donation of 30 essential medical kits and national flags to fishing boat crews; awarded 30 scholarships to disadvantaged children; visited and presented gifts to 10 families of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers and soldiers of the "No Number" naval fleet; provided free medical examinations, dispensed medicine, and offered remote medical consultations to over 1,000 people; organized a health, nutrition, and hygiene day for 500 children in the area; donated two sets of computers and printers to the Do Son Border Guard Station and the Bach Long Vy Border Guard Station; and CP Livestock Joint Stock Company sponsored medical examinations and gifts for 10 provinces, worth 320 million VND. The total value of resources for the program during the Launch Ceremony was nearly 800 million VND.

Besides social welfare activities, the delegation also attended the Party membership ceremony for young doctors and volunteers at the K15 "No Number" naval base and at Do Son High School, encouraging young people and medical professionals to continue their pioneering volunteer work, strive harder, and proudly march forward under the Party's banner.

Nguyen Ngoc Luong, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Youth Union, shared that during more than three years of dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic, doctors have become familiar with and better understood the role of using information technology in medical examination and treatment, as well as the digital transformation and the shift from old methods to new ones. Citizens, as beneficiaries of the pandemic, have also gained access to remote healthcare, making it easier for them to use online medical consultation services.

The Vietnam Young Doctors Association has clearly demonstrated its pioneering role in the digital transformation of healthcare, organizing numerous training programs to improve the skills and digital applications of young doctors and volunteer youth members, and carrying out remote medical examination, treatment, and healthcare services. These programs include: "Doctors as Companions," the Non-Communicable Disease Management App, "Pharmacies as Companions," and Clinic 4.0.

On May 14th, 40 provinces and cities across the country simultaneously organized the 2023 Young Doctors' Day, following President Ho Chi Minh's teachings and volunteering for community health.
