The Ministry of Construction has just announced that from now until August 19, a number of additional component projects of the North-South Expressway will be completed and put into operation.

Specifically, the Vung Ang - Bung section is 55 km long; Van Ninh - Cam Lo is 65 km long; the Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan section is 11 km long through Da Nang city, coinciding with Ho Chi Minh road.

In addition, the remaining 13 km of the Van Phong - Nha Trang section will also be completed and put into operation, 10/88 km of the Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon section, 45/70 km of the Hoai Nhon - Quy Nhon section and 20/62 km of the Quy Nhon - Chi Thanh section.

In the North-South direction, the North-South route is currently open to traffic from Hanoi to Ha Tinh.

During the inspection on July 11, Minister of Construction Tran Hong Minh requested units and contractors to concentrate on machinery, equipment and human resources to construct the project. In particular, with the characteristics of the Central region, the rainy season is approaching, it is necessary to have a backup plan in case of unfavorable weather.

"The construction sites must have a vibrant competitive spirit. The Vung Ang - Bung, Van Ninh - Cam Lo projects... must be resolutely implemented in accordance with the commitment to the Prime Minister, bringing the project to traffic on August 19, and soon connecting the entire expressway from Hanoi to Hue," the Minister directed.

It is known that putting into operation all or part of the above projects will increase the total number of expressways nationwide to more than 2,470km.
