7 more renewable energy projects generate electricity to the grid

(HNMO) - Vietnam Electricity (EVN) informed that as of 5:30 p.m. on May 31, 9/85 transitional renewable energy projects had submitted documents for recognition of commercial operation date (COD); of which 7 projects/project parts with a total capacity of 430.22 MW had completed COD procedures and were officially allowed to generate commercial electricity to the grid. In addition, 40 projects had their temporary prices approved by the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

Also according to EVN, up to now, 59/85 projects with a total capacity of 3,389.811 MW have submitted documents to negotiate electricity prices and power purchase contracts; of which 50 projects (total capacity of 2,751.611 MW) have proposed a temporary price equal to 50% of the ceiling price of the price range (according to Decision No. 21/QD-BCT dated January 7, 2023 of the Ministry of Industry and Trade). EVN and investors have completed price negotiations and initialed PPA contracts with 46/50 projects.

19 projects have been accepted by competent State management agencies for the construction or part of the construction; 27 projects have been granted electricity operation licenses for the entire factory or part of the factory; 22 projects have had decisions to extend investment policies.

Actively implementing the Prime Minister 's direction, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and Vietnam Electricity Group are making efforts and focusing on removing difficulties and obstacles with the goal of bringing transitional renewable energy projects to the grid soon while still ensuring compliance with legal regulations. Vietnam Electricity Group has publicly posted and regularly updated information on the status of procedures for implementing transitional renewable energy projects.
