Another bridge in Yen Bai is closed to traffic, how do vehicles move?

According to the leaders of the Yen Bai Provincial Department of Transport, due to the deteriorated roadbed and surface, which do not ensure safety, the unit has issued a notice to reroute traffic on Van Phu Bridge for inspection, maintenance, and repair.


On the evening of October 31st, Mr. Tran Viet Dung, Director of the Department of Transport and Communications of Yen Bai province, announced that the department had just issued a document outlining the traffic diversion plan for Van Phu bridge, located on Au Co road in Yen Bai city.

The Van Phu Bridge will be closed to traffic from 0:00 on November 1st for repairs.

Specifically, traffic will be diverted from 0:00 on November 1, 2024, until the end of December 29, 2024, to facilitate the repair and construction of Van Phu Bridge. During the bridge construction period, people and vehicles will be prohibited from crossing the bridge to allow for repairs to the roadbed and surface, as well as inspection and maintenance of bridge piers affected by the recent floods.

Traffic diversion plan: Vehicles and pedestrians should proceed to the intersection at the beginning of Van Phu Bridge (the intersection with traffic lights) and enter Yen Bai - Van Tien road. At the T-junction with the road connecting the three bridges, turn left onto the road connecting the three bridges to the T-junction at the beginning of Gioi Phien Bridge, turn left and cross Gioi Phien Bridge. Then, enter National Highway 32C or the road connecting National Highway 32C with the Noi Bai - Lao Cai Expressway to Au Co road (and vice versa).

The Van Phu Bridge in Yen Bai City has a total length of 474.96m; a total width of 10m; a vehicle load capacity of H30-XB80; a permanent bridge constructed of reinforced concrete and prestressed reinforced concrete; a total investment of 50 billion VND, construction started in 2002 and was completed in 2004.

Mr. Tran Viet Dung, Director of the Department of Transport and Communications of Yen Bai province, added that in addition to traffic diversion, several other bridges in the province, such as Rao Bridge and Gua Bridge on Au Lau - Dong An road (provincial road 166), and Mau A Bridge on Mau A to Tan Nguyen road (provincial road 165), are also being maintained and repaired by relevant units.

Previously, on October 3rd, the Yen Bai Provincial Department of Transport issued a document prohibiting all people and vehicles from crossing the Yen Bai bridge for safety inspection, maintenance, and repair.
