Vinh Chau town erases 2,263 temporary and dilapidated houses

The Standing Committee of Vinh Chau Town Party Committee (Soc Trang province) has just held a conference to summarize the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in 2025.

Through screening, the entire town has 2,263 households in need of housing support (of which 1,742 households are newly built, 521 households are repaired), including: 286 poor households, 1,618 near-poor households, 117 poor households under the socio -economic development program for ethnic minority areas and 242 meritorious households. Up to now, Vinh Chau has completed 100% of the plan to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the area.

The total cost of implementing the program reached more than 139 billion VND. Of which, more than 63 billion VND came from the "For the Poor" Fund, over 47 billion VND from the 5% savings on regular expenses. In addition, departments, branches, organizations, communes and wards mobilized relatives, benefactors and businesses to support materials and funds worth more than 29 billion VND. The Provincial Military Command also mobilized forces to coordinate with organizations and people in the whole town to contribute more than 8,270 working days to participate in building and repairing houses for households.

Secretary of Vinh Chau Town Party Committee Duong Sa Kha affirmed: Although there are still many difficulties, but with the drastic participation of the entire political system and the consensus of the people and businesses, the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses has been completed on schedule. The success of the program is a clear demonstration of the spirit of solidarity and responsibility of the Party Committee, government and people of Vinh Chau town.
