Ta Chi Nhu Chi Pau Flower Paradise in the Northwest Mountains

From late September to October, the Ta Chi Nhu mountain slope (Yen Bai province) is covered in the brilliant purple color of chi pau flowers, attracting many tourists who love mountain climbing and exploring nature. Ta Chi Nhu is 2,979m above sea level, ranked 7th in the top 10 highest mountains in Vietnam. The mountain peak is located in Xa Ho commune, Tram Tau district, Yen Bai province. This is part of Pu Luong mountain range, belonging to Hoang Lien Son mountain range. Along the trekking route to the top, visitors will admire the brilliant flower carpets in the early morning sun, creating a beautiful natural landscape. Chi pau flower, also known as dragon honey grass or dai tu dang duoc, is a typical flower of the mountainous region of Northern Vietnam. This flower usually grows at an altitude of over 2,000m. Each year, the flower only blooms once a year in late autumn and early winter. On Ta Chi Nhu, the higher the altitude, the darker purple the chi pau flower is, the largest and most beautiful flower patch is on the top of the mountain. Mr. Nguyen Trong Cung, a photographer from Thai Binh , has just completed a trip to conquer Ta Chi Nhu in the chi pau flower season, sharing: "The route to explore Ta Chi Nhu is not too difficult. The total distance for the two-day, one-night journey is about 24km round trip." On the trekking journey, visitors can admire the landscape that constantly changes according to the altitude, from primeval forests to cool streams, sometimes going through low-canopy forests, grasslands, bamboo forests... To conquer Ta Chi Nhu, visitors should also note to hire a porter (local guide) to avoid getting lost and have the best experience. Visitors should closely monitor weather forecasts and warnings from local authorities, especially during the rainy season. Prepare all necessary equipment such as raincoats, jackets, medicine, spare batteries, headlamps, bring enough drinking water, knee braces and trekking poles to cope with long steep slopes. Mr. Trong Cung shared that tourists coming to Ta Chi Nhu also need to be aware of protecting the environment and not littering. According to him, in addition to the chi pau flower season, Ta Chi Nhu also has the hawthorn flower season in March and April, creating an equally charming scene.
