Weather on July 1: Heavy rain continues in the North

(PLVN) - According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, heavy rain will continue in the North today. Warning of the risk of localized heavy rain.

The meteorological agency forecasts that from early morning of July 1st to early morning of July 3rd, the Northern region and Thanh Hoa will experience moderate to heavy rain and thunderstorms, with some areas experiencing very heavy rain. The rainfall amount will generally range from 50-140mm, with some areas exceeding 250mm.

Warning of the risk of localized heavy rainfall (>100mm/3h).

Additionally, on July 1st, both day and night, the area from Nghe An to Lam Dong and the Southern region will experience showers and thunderstorms, with some areas experiencing heavy rain with rainfall amounts of 10-30mm, and some areas exceeding 70mm (rain concentrated in the late afternoon and night).

From July 3rd, heavy rain in Northern Vietnam will gradually decrease.

Thunderstorms may cause tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind. Heavy rain may cause flooding in low-lying areas, urban and industrial areas; flash floods in small rivers and streams; and landslides on steep slopes.

Regarding weather conditions at sea, currently (July 1st), the Gulf of Tonkin, the Central and Southern South China Sea (including the Spratly Islands) are experiencing showers and thunderstorms. In the Phu Quy Special Economic Zone, there are southwest winds of force 5, sometimes reaching force 6.

The forecast for July 1st, day and night, indicates scattered showers and thunderstorms in the Gulf of Tonkin, the northern South China Sea (including the Hoang Sa Special Economic Zone), the central and southern South China Sea (including the Truong Sa Special Economic Zone), and the Gulf of Thailand. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, strong gusts of wind (level 6-7), and waves exceeding 2.0 meters.

Additionally, in the sea area from Lam Dong to Ca Mau, there are strong southwest winds of level 5, sometimes level 6, gusting to level 7, with waves 1.5-2.5m high and rough seas.

All vessels operating in these areas are at risk of being affected by tornadoes and strong gusts of wind.

Hanoi

Cloudy, with rain, moderate rain and scattered thunderstorms, locally heavy rain in some areas. Southeast wind, force 2-3. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, and strong gusts of wind.

Lowest temperature: 24-26 degrees Celsius.

Highest temperature: 28-30 degrees Celsius.

Northwest Vietnam

Cloudy, with moderate to heavy rain and thunderstorms, locally very heavy rain. Light winds. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong gusts of wind.

Lowest temperature: 22-25 degrees Celsius, in some places below 22 degrees Celsius.

Maximum temperature: 27-30 degrees Celsius.

Northeast Vietnam

Cloudy, with moderate to heavy rain and thunderstorms, locally very heavy rain. Southeast wind at level 2-3. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong gusts of wind.

Lowest temperature: 23-26 degrees Celsius, in mountainous areas some places below 23 degrees Celsius.

Maximum temperature: 27-30 degrees Celsius, with some areas exceeding 30 degrees Celsius.

Thanh Hoa - Hue

Cloudy, with scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain in some areas. Light winds. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, and strong gusts of wind.

Lowest temperature: 24-27 degrees Celsius.

Maximum temperature: 31-34 degrees Celsius.

South Central Coast

Cloudy, with scattered showers and thunderstorms in some areas; particularly in the afternoon and evening, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms, with locally heavy rain. Southwesterly winds of force 2-3. There is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, and strong gusts of wind during thunderstorms.

Lowest temperature: 25-28 degrees Celsius.

Maximum temperature: 32-35 degrees Celsius.

Central Highlands

Cloudy, with scattered showers and thunderstorms in some areas; particularly in the late afternoon and evening, there will be showers and scattered thunderstorms, with locally heavy rain. West to southwest winds at 2-3 Beaufort. There is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, and strong gusts of wind during thunderstorms.

Lowest temperature: 20-23 degrees Celsius.

Maximum temperature: 27-30 degrees Celsius, with some areas exceeding 31 degrees Celsius.

Southern Vietnam

Cloudy, with scattered showers and thunderstorms in some areas; particularly in the late afternoon and evening, there will be showers and scattered thunderstorms, with locally heavy rain. Southwesterly winds of force 2-3. There is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, and strong gusts of wind during thunderstorms.

Lowest temperature: 24-27 degrees Celsius.

Maximum temperature: 31-34 degrees Celsius, with some areas exceeding 34 degrees Celsius.
