On the evening of September 15, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended and spoke at the live television program "Vietnam's Support" organized by Vietnam Television (VTV).

The program aims to spread love and sympathy for people's losses due to storms and floods, and encourage resilience in overcoming difficulties, creativity and courage for a common goal.

Storm No. 3 (super typhoon Yagi ) with very strong intensity in recent days has flooded the northern provinces, causing heavy damage to people and property.

In the critical situation, the authorities have "rapidly" deployed response plans to the complex developments of natural disasters, mobilizing tens of thousands of officers, soldiers, militiamen, and thousands of vehicles to directly rescue victims, ensure traffic safety, evacuate, relocate, search, provide relief, and protect people's lives and property.

People across the country have wholeheartedly turned to the flood-affected areas, sharing spiritual and material contributions with noble initiatives and actions. In the most difficult moments, the love of the Vietnamese people has touched friends around the world .

The story of Nguyen Quoc Bao (born in 2016) who lost both his father and sister when the three of them were swept away by floodwaters while traveling by motorbike across the Cau Treo village spillway (Yen Thuan commune, Ham Yen district, Tuyen Quang province) made everyone unable to hold back their tears.

Captain Luc Van Nguyen, an officer of Yen Thuan Commune Police, Ham Yen District Police (the person who directly rescued the child), also tried for half an hour to find Bao's sister's parents, following the boy's request, but to no avail.

Bao lost his father and sister, constantly wiping away tears while standing on set. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh carried his briefcase, walked up and hugged the boy, giving Bao a gift with the wish that he would be strong enough to continue going to school.

Bao also shared his dream of becoming a police officer, like the foster father he just had, Captain Luc Van Nguyen.

The program “Vietnam’s Fulcrum” depicts many touching stories about military officers, police officers, and volunteers who, regardless of danger and hardship, actively worked to rescue many victims of storms and floods.

“In times of difficulty, hardship and challenge, everyone needs a support,” said Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, and highly appreciated VTV’s initiative to name the program “Vietnam Support.”

He also shared about 6 "Vietnam's pillars".

The first fulcrum is the spirit of national solidarity.

The second fulcrum is the Party's leadership, and our Party has no other goal than to gain independence and freedom for the nation, and to care for a prosperous and happy life for the people.

Third is the fulcrum of the nation's heroic, civilized, and cultural historical traditions; the spirit of "mutual love and support", "love others as you love yourself", and "help each other".

The fourth pillar is the people. The Prime Minister emphasized that the people make history because “It is a hundred times easier without the people to endure/ A thousand times harder with the people to overcome”.

The fifth fulcrum is the army and police and finally the spirit of self-reliance and self-reliance of the nation.

“When facing difficulties and challenges, each of us must strive to rise up, surpassing our own limits with the spirit of turning nothing into something, turning difficult into easy, turning impossible into possible,” the Government leader emphasized.

With such a solid foundation, the Prime Minister called on everyone to work twice as hard, "working during the day is not enough, so take advantage of working at night" to overcome the consequences of super typhoon No. 3, contributing to building a strong and prosperous Vietnam.
