The BRICS 2025 Summit, themed "Strengthening Southern Cooperation to Promote More Inclusive and Sustainable Governance," is one of the most important multilateral events, attended by approximately 20 high-level leaders from various countries, the UN Secretary-General, and leaders from numerous international organizations.
Vietnam's membership as a BRICS partner and participation in the Summit affirm its role and responsible contributions within multilateral mechanisms, with the desire to contribute to and enhance the voice and role of developing countries, promote international solidarity and inclusive multilateralism in the spirit of respecting international law, and further deepen cooperative relations between Vietnam and BRICS member countries.

The BRICS group of emerging economies, established in 2006, currently has 10 member countries: Russia, China, Brazil, India, South Africa, Iran, Ethiopia, Egypt, Indonesia, and the UAE. In addition, there are 10 partner countries, including Vietnam, Malaysia, and Thailand. Against the backdrop of profound global changes in politics , economics, and climate, BRICS has emerged as a new and strategic model of cooperation, playing an increasingly prominent role in reshaping the global order. BRICS also aims to build alternative institutions, reducing reliance on organizations such as the International Monetary Fund (IMF), while encouraging the rise of developing economies.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended and spoke at the High-Level Debate on the topic: Strengthening Multilateralism, Economic , Financial and Artificial Intelligence Issues; attended and spoke at the High-Level Debate on the topic: Environment, COP 30 and Global Health; and attended the Announcement of the Leaders' Framework Declaration on Climate Finance and the Launch of the BRICS Partnership on Eradicating Social Diseases.
During the two-day conference, BRICS member countries focused on strengthening cooperation in areas such as healthcare, artificial intelligence, and climate change. Host country Brazil expects that the agreements reached at this year's conference will foster effective cooperation, contributing to addressing the sustainable development challenges of emerging economies.
