On the morning of September 21 (local time), on the occasion of attending the High-level General Debate of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly combined with bilateral activities in the US, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visited the headquarters of the NYSE Stock Exchange in New York.

Unlike usual, today the NYSE stock exchange is brightly decorated with the red flag with yellow star of Vietnam. The Vietnamese national flag is displayed on the four-sided electronic pole at the entrance to the floor and on the balcony where Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh is about to ring the bell.

NYSE Vice President John Tuttle welcomed Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Vietnamese delegation to visit the NYSE stock exchange.

Here, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and NYSE leaders discussed a number of issues and presented souvenirs.

NYSE Vice President John Tuttle was delighted to meet Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on his visit to the stock exchange. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed his honor to be invited for the second time to visit and ring the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange and expressed his impression of the NYSE, with a capitalization of up to 40 trillion USD.

The Prime Minister suggested that, based on the warm political relationship between the two countries, especially after the two countries upgraded their relationship to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, NYSE inform investors about the favorable investment and business environment in Vietnam; encourage businesses to invest in Vietnam. At the same time, support the connection between the Vietnamese stock market with NYSE and the world's leading stock exchanges; provide technical support and human resource training for Vietnam in this field.

Afterwards, the NYSE leadership invited the Prime Minister to visit the stock exchange.

A small studio located right on the NYSE stock exchange floor is preparing to broadcast live the opening session of the day with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh ringing the bell.

In the middle of the NYSE trading floor is a small studio with all the equipment to prepare for the live report of the first trading session of the day. While waiting for the appearance of the head of the Vietnamese Government, stock commentators went on air to convey information to investors.

Before taking his place to ring the bell, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh signed the guestbook of honor.

The Prime Minister then went up to the balcony on the third floor with Mr. John Tuttle to ring the bell and bang the gavel to open the first NYSE trading session of the day.

As soon as Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh pressed the button, the bell rang and the entire NYSE stock exchange erupted in applause.

The NYSE, New York Stock Exchange opened its first session of the day with an atmosphere of excitement evident on the faces of everyone present.

New York City is famous for its two stock markets: the more public NYSE and the NASDAQ, which specializes in listing high-tech and information technology stocks.

The market capitalization of the NYSE and NASDAQ is larger than that of all other stock exchanges in the world. As of January 2023, the market capitalization of companies listed on US stock exchanges accounted for 42% of the global total.

One of the most familiar images of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) on financial news is the loud bell that signals the opening or closing of the world's largest stock exchange.

According to NYSE, ringing the bell is not only a colorful tradition, but also very important to the operation of the market, to ensure that no trading takes place before the opening (9:30) or after the closing (16:00).

Previously, in May 2022, during a working trip to the US, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh also visited and knocked the gavel to end the stock trading session at the NYSE.
