At the reception, Comrade Nguyen Dinh Vinh sent greetings to the new US Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City, Melissa A. Brown, and expressed his hope that the Consul General in her new position will support and facilitate the increasingly closer cooperation between Da Nang and US partners, especially in the context of the Vietnam-US relationship being at its best stage - "Comprehensive Strategic Partnership" since 2023.

Introducing the socio -economic development strategy of Da Nang in the coming time, comrade Nguyen Dinh Vinh emphasized the city's key development orientations in the fields of International Financial Center, High Technology, Semiconductor Industry and AI.

The cooperative and friendly relationship between Da Nang city and US partners is currently developing strongly, achieving many important results in many fields: science and technology, health, tourism, education , investment,... Currently, Da Nang city has official cooperative relations with 3 US cities.

In the strategy of developing international economic relations, the United States has always been identified by the city as one of the key partners, playing an important role in promoting strategic cooperation areas. Up to now, the city has 92 investment projects from the United States, with a total registered capital of more than 511 million USD, ranking third in total foreign investment capital in Da Nang.

The projects focus on priority areas of the city such as high technology, supporting industries, tourism, real estate, and services. The establishment of the Danang-US Cooperation Promotion Working Group is a strategic step showing the determination to accompany US partners in key areas such as high technology, innovation, digital economy, and sustainable development.

Sharing about the future development of Da Nang city with many key areas, Ms. Melissa A. Brown hopes to continue promoting economic development between Vietnam and the United States in general and US businesses investing in Da Nang in particular, especially hoping that Da Nang will create conditions for US businesses to invest and develop in the Free Trade Zone and the Da Nang International Financial Center.
