On the afternoon of October 9th, Tien Hai district held a ceremony to commemorate the 195th anniversary of its establishment (1828-2023). Attendees included: Tran Quoc Vuong, former member of the Politburo and former Standing Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam; Ngo Dong Hai, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Nguyen Tien Thanh, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Nguyen Khac Than, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee; leaders of the Provincial People's Council and People's Committee; and representatives from various provincial departments and agencies.

In March 1828, Nguyen Cong Tru sailed to Tien Chau beach and personally commanded the land reclamation project. Under Nguyen Cong Tru's leadership, in less than six months, hundreds of kilometers of river dikes were dug and built, and tens of thousands of acres of rice fields were reclaimed. 14 districts, 27 hamlets, 20 camps, and 10 villages were established with a population of 2,350 people and 18,970 acres of rice fields. By September 1828, the land reclamation project was completed. The great achievements of the land reclamation project in Tien Hai in 1828, commanded by the Land Reclamation Commissioner Nguyen Cong Tru, are considered a leap forward in the history of land reclamation in Vietnam, providing invaluable lessons for the Party and State in later years. It is a rich treasure trove of experience in river digging and dike construction techniques, land reclamation, and the construction of settlements and villages, especially useful for the ongoing process of dike construction, land reclamation, and expansion of land by the people of Tien Hai today.
Throughout the wars of national liberation and defense of the Fatherland, Tien Hai district has made immense contributions in terms of human and material resources, with over 22,000 people participating in the army. Among them are 4,928 martyrs, 618 heroic Vietnamese mothers, 2,500 wounded and sick soldiers, 2,200 resistance fighters exposed to chemical toxins, 427 veteran revolutionaries, 66 families with meritorious service to the nation, and over 11,000 people who participated in the resistance. The people and armed forces of Tien Hai district were awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces by the State. Tien Hai district had the honor of welcoming President Ho Chi Minh in 1962. These are invaluable assets of the Party Committee, government, and people of Tien Hai.

Building on the heroic traditions of its homeland, Tien Hai today is undergoing innovation, integration, and development. The average growth rate over the three years (2021-2023) is estimated at 11.01% (at 2010 constant prices), with the economic structure in 2023 estimated at: agriculture, forestry, and fisheries at 23.7%; industry and construction at 63.05%; and services and trade at 13.25%. Average per capita income in 2023 is estimated at 63.5 million VND/year. The new rural development program has achieved positive results, with the district being recognized by the Prime Minister as meeting the new rural development standards in 2019. Speaking at the ceremony, Comrade Nguyen Khac Than, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, praised and acknowledged the Party Committee, government, and people of Tien Hai district for their spirit of unity, courageous fighting, diligence, and creativity in labor and production, making significant contributions to the overall development of the province. The 195th anniversary of the founding of Tien Hai district is an important historical milestone in the district's formation and development. He urged the Party Committee, government, and people of Tien Hai district to uphold the traditions of the past 195 years, promote patriotic emulation movements, exploit favorable natural conditions to develop the economy with high and sustainable growth rates; and focus on developing culture and education in parallel with economic development. He also called for building and strengthening a robust political, national defense, and security system, transforming Tien Hai district into a solid defense zone, and maintaining political stability and social order.
