The date for the 2023 Ballon d'Or award has been revealed, with Haaland and Mbappe still trailing Messi.

Goal.com revealed the nominees for the 2023 Ballon d'Or award immediately after the Champions League final – Manchester City's 1-0 victory over Inter Milan. Superstar Messi is leading the nominations thanks to his 2022 World Cup win, while Erling Haaland is in second place and striker Kylian Mbappe in third.

Messi currently has a 60% chance of winning his eighth Ballon d'Or, according to Diario Sport.
