Searching for young talent "National Guitar Talent Festival 2024"

This is a professionally organized guitar competition for contestants aged 7 and up, taking place from August 1st to October 27th.

At the press conference launching the competition on May 12th in Hanoi, explaining the reason for creating a competition specifically for guitar enthusiasts, Mr. Nguyen Van Tuan, Chairman of the Vietnam Institute for Educational and Cultural Development and Head of the competition's organizing committee, said that the art of guitar playing is currently quite popular in Vietnam and is pursued by many people.

The competition is organized to fulfill the aspirations of numerous guitar enthusiasts nationwide who wish to experience a large-scale, national-level competition. It is hoped that the competition will attract a wide range of participants, providing inspiration and contributing to the strong development of guitar practice, performance, and appreciation.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Tuan, the 2024 National Guitar Talent Festival differs from previous competitions in that it not only targets professional guitarists but also expands opportunities to amateurs, thereby discovering and nurturing guitar talents in the community and guiding them towards professional careers.

Contestants nationwide can register to compete in two categories: classical and freestyle. Contestants are divided into five age groups (7-10 years old, 11-14 years old, 15-17 years old, 18-24 years old, and 25 years and older).

Each category consists of three rounds: the qualifying round - "Talent Search" (August 1-18), the semi-final round - "Shining Round" (October 5-20), and the final round and awards gala (October 26 and 27). The qualifying and semi-final rounds are held in the North, Central, and South regions of Vietnam. The final round is expected to select 300 contestants to compete at the Vietnam National Academy of Music ( Hanoi ).

The judging panel of the competition consists of reputable lecturers and musicians from the Vietnam National Academy of Music, Hanoi College of Arts, Hue Academy of Music, Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music, Vietnam National Opera and Ballet Theatre, etc.

The organizers will provide individual counseling and guidance sessions for the winning contestants; organize networking and experience-sharing activities with renowned international artists; and hold mini-concerts to create a performance stage, improve skills, and help talents confidently develop.
