Bodies of 2 students swept away by flood found in Lam Son commune (Ninh Son)

According to a preliminary report from the People's Committee of Lam Son commune, at approximately 4:45 PM on September 17th, MN (8 years old, female) and SLY Ph (6 years old, male), both students of Lam Son B Primary School, were cycling home from Lam Quy village towards Gon 1 village when they were swept away by floodwaters at the Lam Quy village spillway.

After receiving the report, the People's Committee of Lam Son commune and the commune's Disaster Prevention and Rescue Command organized a search. However, at that time, there was heavy rain, and the floodwaters rose quickly and strongly, making the search for the victims very difficult. At around 9:30 PM on the same day, rescue forces found the bodies of the two children, about 2 km from the spillway.

Representatives from the Lam Son Commune People's Committee visited and offered condolences to the families of the two students; they also coordinated with the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Ninh Son District to raise funds to help the families with the funeral arrangements.
