Ho Chi Minh City people eat too much salt.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Center for Disease Control (HCDC), people in the city consume an average of 8.5g of salt per day, nearly double the World Health Organization (WHO) recommendation of less than 5g per day, with men consuming more salt than women (9.4g compared to 7.6g per day).

According to HCDC, salt (sodium chloride - NaCl) is a familiar spice, in which sodium accounts for about 40% of the weight of salt.

Excess sodium intake is a major health risk factor. Sodium is also found in other salty condiments such as fish sauce, soy sauce, seasoning powder, MSG, and soda.

Eating salty foods is the "enemy" of the heart. The habit of eating salty foods also increases the risk of cardiovascular diseases, is related to obesity, stomach cancer, osteoporosis, kidney stones, and aggravates asthma.

Natural foods such as vegetables, meat, fish, etc. already contain enough sodium for the body's daily needs. Salt deficiency only occurs in special cases such as: people with severe, prolonged diarrhea, people who do heavy labor in hot conditions for many hours, athletes who train at high intensity for long periods of time.

HCDC recommends that people should prioritize boiled and steamed dishes instead of braised, stewed, or roasted dishes; make use of natural spices such as lemon, chili, pepper, garlic, onion, herbs, etc. to enhance flavor without adding much salt; carefully read the nutritional ingredients, especially the sodium content on product labels when buying...

The Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX) has just announced the mandatory delisting of all CVN shares of Vinam Joint Stock Company.

Accordingly, the total number of shares that this enterprise is currently circulating, nearly 29.7 million, will be delisted from May 30.

The reason for the delisting, according to HNX, is that Vinam violated information disclosure regulations. This enterprise was late in submitting its annual audited financial statements for three consecutive years from 2022 to 2024.

Previously, HNX had warned of the possibility of delisting this stock and asked Vinam to respond. Afterwards, Vinam said it had proactively contacted many approved auditing units to audit the financial statements for 2023 and 2024.

However, due to the tight work schedules of the auditing units, and the lack of agreement on criteria regarding capacity, experience and cost, up to now, this company has not been able to sign an auditing contract.

Vinam also said it proposed that the management agency consider the delay in submitting the audit report as a force majeure event, and recommended that the delisting not be applied until the Ministry of Finance appoints an auditor and the company completes the audit of the financial statements.
