On the morning of December 4, Mr. Vo Tien Trung, Chairman of the People's Committee of Luong Son commune ( Lam Dong province) signed an urgent notice for all students in the area to stay home from school to ensure safety in the face of complicated flood developments.

According to the People's Committee of Luong Son Commune, heavy rain that lasted all night caused the water level of the Luy River to exceed alert level 3 and continue to rise rapidly, causing deep flooding in many residential areas and key traffic routes, and the risk of unsafety for students going to school was warned at a high level. Therefore, according to the direction of the Chairman of the People's Committee of the Commune, all students of preschool (including private kindergartens), primary, secondary and high schools in the area temporarily stopped going to school until further notice.
During the school break, the Commune People's Committee requested the school Boards to proactively inform parents, closely monitor weather developments and coordinate with the authorities to update the situation. All gatherings must be stopped, requiring absolute safety for students and teachers.
Authorities also recommend that parents do not let their children go to flooded areas, near rivers, streams, or overflow bridges due to many potential risks.
The Commune People's Committee said that by 4am this morning, floodwaters in Luong Son Commune had reached the same level as the peak flood on October 28. Heavy rains continued, and water levels are forecast to continue rising in the coming hours.
