On September 12th, the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs sent a document to provinces and cities regarding the organization of the Mid-Autumn Festival in 2024.
In the context of many provinces in the Northern region suffering the consequences of Typhoon No. 3 and floods, the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs requests localities to organize the Mid-Autumn Festival safely, economically and meaningfully, especially without ostentation or formality.
The official document emphasized limiting large gatherings and instead organizing events online or via television, while also suggesting that gifts could be sent to children (if possible).
"Mid-Autumn Festival activities should be streamlined, focusing on meaningful content such as reading letters from the General Secretary and the President , and giving gifts to children in special circumstances, poor children, ethnic minorities, and children affected by natural disasters," the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs noted.
In addition, the Ministry also emphasized the importance of educating children about solidarity and mutual support, and called for sharing and donations from the community to help flood-affected children return to school and stabilize their lives as soon as possible.
