Successfully organized the first Congress of the Long Thanh Commune Farmers' Association, term 2025 - 2030

On October 10, the 1st Congress of the Farmers' Association of Long Thanh Commune (An Giang Province), term 2025 - 2030, announced the decision to recognize 29 comrades to join the Executive Committee of the Farmers' Association of Long Thanh Commune; Comrade Huynh Van Khanh was appointed to hold the position of Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Long Thanh Commune, term 1, term 2025 - 2030.

This is the congress chosen by the Standing Committee of the Farmers' Association of An Giang province as a point of reference for drawing experience throughout the province.

After the merger, the Long Thanh Commune Farmers' Association has 21 branches according to residential areas, 6 professional branches, 15 professional association groups with 4,341 members. From 2023 to now, the commune has 1,870 households achieving the title of good farmers in production and business at all levels.

The Association has coordinated to help more than 18 farmer members escape poverty; coordinated to mobilize the construction of 9 "Farmer's Warm Homes". The Association supports and guides 1,200 farmer households to have accounts on e-commerce trading floors to connect and consume agricultural products.

Speaking at the congress, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of An Giang province, Chairman of the Farmers' Association of An Giang province Nguyen Van Cop said that if the Farmers' Association wants to be truly close to the people and for the people, it must first of all closely follow the Party's guidelines, the State's policies and local practices.

Mr. Nguyen Van Cop emphasized that agriculture is the foundation, farmers are the subject, so all activities of the association must be directed towards the practical interests of the people.

The Chairman of the Farmers' Association of An Giang province requested the Farmers' Association of Long Thanh commune to innovate propaganda, train a team of dynamic cadres who dare to think and dare to do, arouse the creative spirit in each member; promote production linkage, apply high technology, and digital transformation in agriculture.

Besides, it is necessary to promote the role of supervision, criticism, and protection of members' rights, contributing to building the Party and government closer to the people and stronger.

The Congress voted to unify the targets and tasks of the Long Thanh Commune Farmers' Association for the 2025-2030 term.

With the motto "Democracy - Solidarity - Innovation - Integration - Development", the 1st Congress of the Long Thanh Commune Farmers' Association unanimously set out the following targets: Annually admit 300 or more new members; during the term, establish 10 new professional farmer associations, 5 professional farmer branches; support the establishment of 10 new cooperative groups in the agricultural sector and 5 agricultural cooperatives; support 200 farmer households/year to have accounts on e-commerce platforms to meet the above targets...
