After more than a decade of diligently pursuing art, Vu Thao My has realized her dream of releasing her debut album 1.0 . This is a milestone in the arduous journey, full of all emotions of the singer born in 1997.

The album was produced by Vu Thao My with the support of musician Anh Quan - singer My Linh's husband. By chance, he heard Thao My's voice on the radio and was deeply impressed. After learning more about her, the musician learned that she had competed in The Voice of Vietnam in 2013 - when My Linh was a coach. Since then, the two have had the chance to work together.

Although the album took a long time to make due to geography and a busy schedule, Thao My is very satisfied with the final result. "I worked with Anh Quan for a long time to release this album. His house is in Soc Son ( Hanoi ), and I live in Ho Chi Minh City, so every time I work, I have to fly to the North," Thao My shared about the collaboration.

MV 'Just What I Want':

Vu Thao My shared that she does not pursue popular hits but wants products that have their own mark, are in line with artistic philosophy and are still widely accepted by the audience. She is aware that balancing personal identity and public taste is a difficult problem but also necessary for a sustainable career.

"No one can be sure that their music will be accepted by 100% or even 80% of the public. Everything is very difficult to determine. The important thing is that I have to make an effort to create works that leave a strong impression and are accepted by the audience. Only when the song bears the Vu Thao My brand, will it have a long 'shelf life'," Thao My shared.

Vu Thao My used to be a shy, timid and introverted girl. Her speech disorder made the female singer often forget her words and was afraid to interact with the audience. "When I was 15 or 16 years old, I knew nothing, my life revolved around studying and music. After becoming the champion of The Voice 2013 , I felt a clear change and everything was more severe than I thought," Thao My shared.

However, the path of maturity and experiencing many things has helped Thao My change in a positive direction. "When I grew up, I realized that I was not at fault when I was 16, I just needed time to experience and draw conclusions for myself. Thanks to that, I became more confident and open," the singer confided.

Currently, although still introverted, Vu Thao My controls and expresses herself appropriately in each situation. She is introverted when alone, to contemplate and make music and see things more thoroughly. But when she goes out to meet the audience, Thao My is extroverted, confidently expressing her own energy.

After winning the Voice of Vietnam 2013 , Thao My still maintains close friendships with Duong Hoang Yen, Hoang Ton and musician Phuong Uyen - whom she considers family members. "When I competed in The Voice of Vietnam, I was the youngest so I was pampered and cared for by most of my older siblings. I always respect everyone until now," Thao My shared.

Vu Thao My shared that during the Covid-19 pandemic, she was very stressed and panicked, even wanting to quit her job. Therefore, for her, waking up every day and finding herself still breathing, living, making music and having people who love her is happiness.

Besides career, love is also an important source of inspiration for Vu Thao My. Despite many failures, she is still optimistic and believes in true love and is ready to love passionately and wholeheartedly as shown in the MV " Only if you want" .
