On October 18, US President Joe Biden arrived in Tel Aviv, beginning his visit to Israel.
During the visit, President Biden is expected to meet with host country Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and many senior Israeli officials.
The US leader also plans to travel to Amman to meet with Jordanian King Abdullah, Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas.
US President Joe Biden’s visit to Israel will be of “strategic importance”, said Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) spokesman Daniel Hagari. Biden has visited Israel 10 times.

According to NBC News, about 2,000 US troops have been ordered to prepare for deployment to support Israel. The troops have not yet departed and will not go to Israel or Gaza. If deployed, they will arrive in a nearby country within 24 hours to prepare to support Israel. The US Department of Defense also deployed the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower aircraft carrier strike group to the eastern Mediterranean Sea, coordinating with the USS Gerald R. Ford aircraft carrier group already present.
Meanwhile, the United Nations (UN) has warned of a dire situation in the Gaza Strip as Palestinians in the enclave have run out of shelter and basic supplies including electricity and water have run out. UN agencies have called on the conflicting parties to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gazans. Food reserves in the Gaza Strip are currently only enough for two weeks, while grocery stores only have enough supplies for nearly five days. Replenishing these stores is extremely difficult.
Stephane Dujarric, spokesman for UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, said the humanitarian aid convoy could not reach the Gaza Strip due to ongoing conflict.
