Ho Chi Minh City opens Nguyen Hue Flower Street for the Year of the Snake 2025

(NLĐO) - Although held annually, the Nguyen Hue Flower Street always has a new look, carrying its own meaning and message each year.

On the evening of January 27th (the 28th day of the Lunar New Year), the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee inaugurated the Nguyen Hue Flower Street for the Year of the Snake 2025.

Attending the opening ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia, Member of the Political Bureau, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Head of the Central Propaganda Department; Mr. Nguyen Van Nen, Member of the Political Bureau, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; Mr. Phan Van Mai, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City; Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nghi, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; Ms. Nguyen Thi Le, Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council; Ms. To Thi Bich Chau, Vice Chairwoman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, along with leaders from the Central Government, Ho Chi Minh City, consulates, businesses, etc.

Also attending the opening ceremony were Ms. Truong My Hoa, former Vice President of Vietnam ; and Ms. Pham Phuong Thao, former Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and former Chairwoman of the People's Council of Ho Chi Minh City.

In her opening remarks, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Tran Thi Dieu Thuy affirmed that Nguyen Hue Flower Street is not only a unique cultural event to welcome the new year but also a symbolic project of Ho Chi Minh City as a dynamic, creative, modern, and compassionate city every time Tet and Spring arrive.

Each year brings something new, with its own meaning and message.

According to the Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, Nguyen Hue Flower Street has a new look each year, carrying its own meaning and message. In 2025, Nguyen Hue Flower Street will be part of a series of major programs, events, and festivals of the city and the country to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Party, the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, and the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and the reunification of the country…

To convey a New Year's message, marking the beginning of important events in 2025, the area around the Ho Chi Minh Monument is designed to be solemn, meaningful, majestic, and warm.

The grand entrance gate of Nguyen Hue Flower Street this Tet creates a "Spring Dance celebrating 50 years of reunification," resounding with a triumphant and heroic song, confidently stepping into a new era for our homeland, Vietnam.

Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy stated that in 2024, along with the rest of the country, Ho Chi Minh City achieved a breakthrough, comprehensively developing all areas of economy, culture, society, and people's lives.

To meet the recreational needs of the people during the Lunar New Year celebrations, the Tet Flower Street 2025 project was created with the dedication of the design team, artisans, and construction units who worked tirelessly day and night.

"This year's Nguyen Hue Flower Street unfolds before our eyes like a beautiful painting, with unique and impressive sculptures adorned with vibrant flowers, depicting the springtime of Vietnam and its people, making us all proud of the 'beautiful land' on this beloved S-shaped strip of land," affirmed the Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City.

In particular, this year's Nguyen Hue Flower Street for Tet continues to be meticulously decorated by the Consulates General of various countries in Ho Chi Minh City with unique displays and artistic flower arrangements. Ten booths feature artistic floral decorations, showcasing the culture of each country, including the USA, the Netherlands, Laos, Italy, Indonesia, South Korea, Russia, China, Thailand, and the United Kingdom.

For the fifth consecutive year, accompanying the Nguyen Hue Flower Street, the collection of floral art pieces from the Consulates General will create a fresh, fragrant, and harmonious touch, complementing the artistic floral decorations representing Vietnam created by the Rex Hotel - a member of Saigontourist Group.

This is a fascinating combination, adding rich colors to the appearance of the 22nd Flower Street for the Lunar New Year of the Snake 2025.

The Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee informed that in order to create a unique brand for the traditional Tet (Lunar New Year) atmosphere of the city through the Flower Street project, city leaders acknowledged the leading role of Saigontourist Group in organizing the implementation, directly organizing the design, managing the construction, as well as mobilizing social resources from partner businesses to serve this project.

The Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee also expressed his hope that each citizen of the city would continue to uphold fine traditions and work together to build an increasingly civilized and modern city.

With the theme "Beautiful Landscape, Joyful Spring in Peace," it will be open to serve the needs of city residents and tourists for spring outings and sightseeing from 7 PM on January 27th (the 28th day of the Lunar New Year) to 9 PM on February 2nd, 2025 (the 5th day of the Lunar New Year).

Since its first implementation in 2004, Nguyen Hue Flower Street Tet 2025 has turned 22 years old.

Considered a cultural symbol of Tet in Ho Chi Minh City, this unique project is organized and implemented by Saigon Tourist Group in coordination with departments, agencies and businesses, under the direction of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.
