According to information from the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organizations, speaking at the meeting, Chairman of the Vietnam-Hungary Friendship Association of Ho Chi Minh City, Le Minh Triet, emphasized the special significance of August 20th in Hungarian history, and also noted that in Vietnam, this commemoration contributes to strengthening the enduring friendship between the people of the two countries. He stated that 2025 marks an important milestone as Vietnam and Hungary celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, affirming the increasingly developing cooperation between the two nations in many fields: politics , economics, education, culture, and people-to-people diplomacy.

Mr. Le Minh Triet expressed confidence in new cooperation opportunities, especially in the fields of innovation, green economy , and digital transformation. He also emphasized that educational cooperation is a highlight in bilateral relations, with Hungary annually providing 200 scholarships to Vietnamese students, demonstrating its concern for the younger generation, who are important bridges for the future.
According to the Hungarian Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City, Lehocz Gabor, Vietnam's National Day on August 20th laid the foundation for the development of today's independent Hungarian state. On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Vietnam's National Day, he extended his congratulations on the achievements of the Vietnamese people and affirmed that the Hungarian government will continue to promote traditional relations, especially in education and training, with a policy of providing full scholarships annually to Vietnamese students.
Mr. Lehocz Gabor highly appreciated the contributions of generations of Vietnamese students studying in Hungary in fostering bilateral relations, stating that it is thanks to them that, in Asia, Vietnam is the country where people have the most understanding of Hungary.
