This is the information announced by Director of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health Tang Chi Thuong on the morning of July 23 after the department's inspection and legal department inspected information reported by the people.
Previously, on July 17, after receiving complaints from people about signs of "fake illness", the Department of Health inspected the General Clinic of Viet Khang Thu Duc General Clinic Company Limited (address 83C Dang Van Bi, Thu Duc ward).
Through inspection, it was discovered that this clinic had signs of "faking illnesses". Currently, the department continues to coordinate with Ho Chi Minh City Police to investigate and clarify and strictly handle if there is enough evidence of violations.
Recently, the multidisciplinary clinic of Viet Khang Thu Duc Multidisciplinary Clinic Company Limited has been identified as a hot spot in medical examination and treatment activities, often receiving complaints from people about the situation of "faking illnesses and extorting money".
This clinic often uses a form of "faking illness to extort money" by offering low-cost examinations, but then the clinic staff continuously informs that additional illnesses have arisen, requiring more services, causing the cost to skyrocket. In some cases, it amounts to tens of millions of dong.
The Department of Health coordinates with the City Police to verify and handle violations of relevant organizations and individuals, and the handling results are made public on the department's electronic information portal.
Don't rush to spend money when you suspect you're being "faked into having an illness or having your money taken away"
The Department of Health recommends that people carefully check information when choosing a medical examination place, and look up necessary information about the clinic at the "Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health's Medical and Pharmaceutical Practice Lookup Portal" (https://tracuu.medinet.org.vn).
Do not rush to pay unusual and unclear fees and when suspecting that you are being "faked with illness or having your money taken", immediately call the hotline of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health: 0967.771.010 and 0989.401.155 or report via the "Online Health" application so that the Department of Health has information and promptly detects and handles it according to regulations.
