On August 20, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Ho Chi Minh City sent a document to the People's Committees of wards and communes in Area 2 of Ho Chi Minh City; Binh Duong Center for Investment in Exploitation of Irrigation and Rural Clean Water; Binh Duong Agricultural Service Center on strengthening management and handling of violations in the field of irrigation and dykes.
According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Ho Chi Minh City, in recent years, in the area of area 2 of Ho Chi Minh City, there have been cases of illegal construction and land use in the protection corridor of irrigation works, dykes, and river banks. In order to ensure the safety of works, protect the corridor and improve the efficiency of works, the Department of Agriculture and Environment requests the Binh Duong Center for Investment in Exploitation of Irrigation and Rural Clean Water and the Binh Duong Agricultural Service Center to strengthen the management of irrigation works, dykes, and land in the protection corridor of dykes; promptly detect and handle cases of encroachment, occupation, and illegal use of land within the safety corridor of works; prevent illegal construction on land in the safety corridor of works; fully perform the responsibility to prevent and handle violations in accordance with the provisions of law.
The People's Committees of wards and communes must closely coordinate with relevant units to regularly inspect and promptly detect acts of encroachment, occupation, and illegal use of land within the safety corridor of irrigation works, dykes, and river banks; promptly prevent them as soon as they arise. At the same time, strictly, resolutely, and decisively handle each violation. In particular, the People's Committees of Ben Cat Ward and Thanh An Commune must urgently and decisively handle cases of encroachment and occupation of land within the protection range of Tu Van Lake and Can Nom Lake.
