On July 22, in Vinh Linh commune, Quang Tri province, the Military Region 4 Command, the Military Command of Quang Tri province, the Defense Zone 3 Command - Vinh Linh in coordination with Le Thuy, Gio Linh, Cua Tung, and Vinh Thuy communes organized a ceremony to present the Prime Minister's Certificate of National Merit to 9 martyrs from Quang Tri who heroically sacrificed their lives in the resistance war against French colonialism.

The 9 martyrs include: Nguyen Muu (from Phong Thuy, Le Thuy, Quang Binh , now Quang Tri), who died in 1954 in Dong Hoi; Nguyen Duy Hung, Tran Van Thuong, Nguyen Thuan Xay, Dang La, Le Cao Truong, Phan Dinh Do, Dinh Khiem (from Vinh Linh, now Cua Tung and Vinh Thuy), who died on the battlefields of Quang Binh , Quang Tri, and Upper Laos in the years 1949 - 1954; Nguyen Dang De (from Gio Quang, Gio Linh), who died in the 1952 - 1953 Winter-Spring campaign.
These are the elite sons of the heroic homeland of Quang Tri, young men in their late teens and early twenties, who enlisted in the early years of the resistance war, fought steadfastly in the provincial army, the main regiment and the local army, carrying in their hearts the ideal of “Nothing is more precious than independence and freedom”, fighting and sacrificing bravely during the fierce years of resistance against the French for national independence. Their blood dyed the national flag red, contributing to the glorious tradition of the heroic homeland of Quang Tri, leaving a shining example for today’s and future generations to follow.
In a solemn and emotional atmosphere, representatives of Military Region 4, Quang Tri Provincial Military Command awarded the Prime Minister's Certificate of National Merit (according to Decision No. 1380/QD-TTg) to the martyrs' relatives.
Immediately after the award ceremony, delegates and relatives of martyrs offered flowers and incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs, and observed a moment of silence to remember and express gratitude for the martyrs' great contributions to the Fatherland.
