On November 27th, at the People's Police Museum, the Ministry of Public Security and the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) jointly organized the opening of a photo exhibition and legal awareness campaign as part of the Month of Action on Gender Equality and Prevention and Response to Gender-Based Violence.
This is the first exhibition in Vietnam on the role of the People's Public Security Force in protecting women and children from gender-based violence.

The exhibition displays 63 photographs, inspired by the reality that 63% of married women have experienced violence in their lives, with less than 10% seeking help (according to the 2nd National Survey on Violence Against Women in 2019, conducted by the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, the General Statistics Office, and the United Nations Population Fund).
The exhibition's images convey a message about preventing and responding to violence, with a two-part structure: "Stories to Forget" and "Looking Towards the Future." The exhibition aims to encourage women and girls who have experienced violence to seek support from the police.
Attending and cutting the ribbon to inaugurate the exhibition were Lieutenant General Tran Quoc To, Deputy Minister of Public Security; Ms. Christine Arab, Director of UN Women Asia- Pacific ; and Ms. Caroline Nyamayamambe, Head of UN Women Vietnam.
