The project, jointly implemented by Shenzhen Blood Center and China Telecom, marks a major step forward in ensuring the rapid and efficient supply of medical supplies for emergency medical operations.

According to China Daily, on January 19, the first blood transport flight was deployed by the Shenzhen Blood Center.

"The new mode of transportation has had a significant impact, improving blood rescue operations," said Ning Li, director of the center. "Usually, it takes 60 minutes to transport blood from Shenzhen Blood Center to Louhu District Hospital. With drones, the time has been reduced dramatically... to just nine minutes."

The innovative transport system has solved long-standing challenges such as traffic congestion, timely blood supply for emergency treatment in emergency situations, significantly increasing the chance of survival for patients.

In addition, the drone also integrates a high-speed 5G connection platform and artificial intelligence, monitoring the blood transportation process, ensuring blood quality during transportation.

Specifically, blood bags will be accompanied by tracking devices placed in specialized blood transport containers. The intelligent control system will monitor the entire transportation process as well as coordinate routes and respond to emergencies.

Mr. Wei Jianzhang, Vice President of Shenzhen Institute of International Cooperation and Development, affirmed: "The launch of the blood delivery drone platform in Shenzhen is of great significance. It not only addresses the important need for emergency medical operations, but also serves as an important model for leveraging advanced technology to improve public health."
