Over 1,000 gifts were distributed to children in the southwestern border region.

On the evening of October 4th, in Long Chu border commune, Tay Ninh province, local authorities coordinated the organization of the "Mid-Autumn Festival of Blessings and Love" program for more than 1,600 children in the border region.

In the festive atmosphere of the night, the children of Long Chu commune immersed themselves in lively lion dances, enjoyed a fairytale-themed performance of Uncle Cuoi and Sister Hang, carried lanterns, and received meaningful gifts.

The program left a deep impression on the children and their parents. It was truly a meaningful activity, demonstrating the responsibility and concern of the community and local authorities for disadvantaged children, especially those from border regions, helping them have a warm and fulfilling Mid-Autumn Festival filled with love.

Dang Manh Hung, a 5th-grade student from Long Phuoc Primary and Secondary School (Long Chu commune), shared: “I am very happy to participate in this program because we rarely have the opportunity to watch lion dances and receive so many Mid-Autumn Festival gifts like today. I will try harder to study well so as not to disappoint my teachers, parents, and those who have cared for us.”

Mr. Nguyen Truong Giang (45 years old, residing in Long Giang hamlet) said that his family works in agriculture and their lives are still difficult, so they can only buy a few candies and snacks for their children each year. Thanks to this program, the children can have fun, receive gifts, and feel the love from the community. This is a great source of encouragement for families to have more faith, continue working, and take care of their children...

On this occasion, the organizing committee awarded 5 scholarships of 3 million VND each to students from disadvantaged backgrounds; 200 gifts to elderly people living alone; and 1,600 gifts to underprivileged children, with a total value of over 472 million VND. The program also featured folk games, lantern processions, and cultural performances, creating a vibrant, engaging, and meaningful atmosphere.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Nga, Secretary of the Long Chu Commune Party Committee, emphasized: "Caring for children, especially those in difficult circumstances in border areas, is the responsibility of the entire political system and society. The Commune Party Committee sincerely thanks the organizations, businesses, and philanthropists who have joined hands with the locality to bring the children a warm and meaningful Mid-Autumn Festival. This is a valuable source of encouragement, giving them more strength to strive in their studies and lives."

Long Chu is a border commune with limited development opportunities, so the material and spiritual lives of children are not as fulfilling as in urban areas. The locality urgently needs the collective support to create conditions for the comprehensive development of children. In the coming time, the commune will continue to pay attention to and coordinate the organization of many practical activities to care for children. At the same time, the commune calls on the business community, social organizations, and benevolent individuals to join hands in social welfare work, contributing to ensuring that all children have the opportunity for comprehensive development.
