On November 22nd, Hue University announced its conclusions regarding the allegations that Ms. Le Thi An H. plagiarized her doctoral dissertation.
According to Hue University, Ms. Le Thi An H was previously a doctoral student in the 2013 cohort at the University of Science (Hue University). In March 2018, Ms. H successfully defended her doctoral thesis at the Hue University Doctoral Thesis Defense Council with the topic " History of Vietnam: The Formation, Development and Transformation of Royal Court Festivals in Hue from 1802 to 1945 ".
However, after Ms. H's doctoral thesis was published, someone filed a complaint alleging that it used other people's ideas without citing sources, violating plagiarism rules. Upon receiving the complaint, Hue University established an evaluation committee to reassess Ms. Le Thi An H's doctoral thesis.

After verification, Hue University concluded that the doctoral dissertation in History (specialization: Vietnamese History, code: 62.22.03.13) by Ms. Le Thi An H violated plagiarism regulations.
“ The doctoral dissertation of Ms. Le Thi An H contains many sections that use ideas and passages similar to those previously published by other authors. Many details in the dissertation are not cited by Ms. H with specific sources. The plagiarism has been identified as 12 pages ,” the conclusion of Hue University clearly states.
The Director of Hue University requested that the thesis author seriously consider and revise the content pointed out in the conclusion of the complaint investigation and submit it for archiving in accordance with current regulations.
The University of Science - Hue University, in coordination with the Training and Student Affairs Department of Hue University, will monitor and verify the author's thesis revisions in accordance with the conclusions of the complaint investigation.
Furthermore, Hue University recommends that the Minister of Education and Training establish a council to evaluate the content of Ms. Le Thi An H.'s doctoral dissertation in order to resolve the matter within its authority.
