Tran Dai Nghia High School, formerly known as Que Son Semi-Public High School, was established on June 19, 2000. On August 31, 2009, it was renamed Tran Dai Nghia High School, becoming a public school under the Department of Education and Training of Quang Nam province (old).

In the first school year (2000 - 2001), the school only had 5 classrooms for level 4, no offices or functional rooms; only 9 teachers transferred from Que Son High School and 8 teachers came to work. In the following school years, the school continuously invested in equipment and infrastructure, creating the best learning conditions for students.

Over the years, the percentage of students with good conduct is always over 98%; the percentage of students with good academic performance is over 77%; the graduation rate is always over 99%. Many students are admitted to prestigious universities nationwide. The school's students have won many medals and high prizes in competitions.

Ms. Tran Thi Hong Phuong, Principal of Tran Dai Nghia High School, said: "In the past time, Tran Dai Nghia High School has achieved proud achievements, but above all, the spirit of solidarity, sharing, love, and improving the quality of teaching and learning."

After 25 years of establishment and development, Tran Dai Nghia High School has graduated more than 7,000 students. Many former students have become excellent and outstanding children and are contributing to the development of their homeland and country.

The campus of Tran Dai Nghia High School used to be the Van Thanh area - a temple to worship Confucius and record the achievements of students of Que Son land in the process of building the country from the 21st year of Tu Duc to the 2nd year of Khai Dinh. Currently, the Van Thanh area still has a stone stele remaining.

In 2020, the People's Committee of Quang Nam Province (old) invested in building a new facility for Tran Dai Nghia High School in Phuoc Thanh Village, Que Thuan Commune, Que Son District (now Que Son Trung Commune, Da Nang City). The school is nearly completed and will be put into use in the near future.

On this occasion, businessman Tran Van Tuan, Chairman of Thai Bao Group, former student of Tran Dai Nghia High School (2001-2004 school year) sponsored 100 million VND to show gratitude to the school.
