Over 250 fishermen from Cam Linh commune, Cam Xuyen district ( Ha Tinh province) have been educated about combating illegal, unregulated, and unreported fishing.
Implementing the peak propaganda plan on combating IUU fishing (illegal, unregulated and unreported fishing), Thien Cam Border Guard Station coordinated with the Drug Crime Prevention Task Force No. 2 (Coast Guard Command) to organize propaganda on relevant knowledge and skills for hundreds of fishermen in Cam Linh commune.
On the morning of June 24th, Thien Cam Border Guard Station (Ha Tinh Border Guard Command) coordinated with Task Force No. 2 for combating drug crimes (Vietnam Coast Guard Command) to organize a campaign to raise awareness about combating IUU fishing.
Accordingly, during one session, 250 fishermen were informed, reminded, and instructed on: things to know in combating IUU fishing; zoning maps and seafood exploitation routes in Vietnam's waters; things Vietnamese fishermen need to know when fishing in the common fishing area of the Gulf of Tonkin; things fishing vessel owners and fishermen operating at sea need to remember to do...
The program aims to affirm the role, functions and tasks of the Ha Tinh Border Guard and the Anti-Drug Task Force No. 2 in protecting sovereignty over seas and islands, enforcing the law at sea, fighting against all types of crimes, fighting against drugs... in the assigned areas.

In addition to requesting and reminding fishermen to strictly comply with legal regulations when producing at sea, the authorities also hope that people will raise their sense of responsibility, join hands to protect the sovereignty of seas and islands, protect marine resources, and help each other in times of trouble...
On this occasion, the authorities also presented 500 leaflets to fishermen to help them further understand and research related issues; and donated 200 national flags for fishermen to display on their fishing boats.
