Lieutenant General Hoang Khanh Hung - Chairman of the Association for Supporting Families of Vietnamese Martyrs, at the closing ceremony of the campaign to support and pay tribute to martyrs with the theme Calling the Stars of the Country from July 2 to August 30, which took place on September 25, said that although this was the first time the association used the form of donation via a charity app, the results far exceeded the estimate. He said that the Association for Supporting Families of Vietnamese Martyrs set a goal of mobilizing compatriots and soldiers nationwide to support 500 million VND, contributing to supporting DNA testing for martyrs, building gratitude houses, giving gifts to families of martyrs who are still in difficulty; supporting the return of martyrs' remains to their homeland. The campaign's results raised more than 1.8 billion VND, exceeding the original target by more than 350%. Sharing with Tuoi Tre Online about this impressive result, Lieutenant General Hoang Khanh Hung said that the most effective method that the Vietnam Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs has found is to "tell the truth, do the truth, and do it effectively". He said that many programs and associations immediately send all the money they can raise to show gratitude to the families and relatives of martyrs, always identifying themselves as a reliable intermediary organization that connects philanthropists with the families of martyrs. "Every penny of the people goes directly to the families and relatives of martyrs. Therefore, the association's donation programs have built great trust with people across the country", Lieutenant General Hoang Khanh Hung said. Mr. Hung said that according to the Law on Finance, the Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs is allowed to deduct 4% of the donated money for administrative operating costs, but "many programs to support the association do not deduct a single penny, so the brothers are determined to eat at home and carry the prison and the whole country". In the future, the Association for Supporting Families of Vietnamese Martyrs will research and develop policies to encourage social activists, artists, and celebrities to participate in calling on social networks to support the association's advocacy programs.
