Lieutenant General Hoang Khanh Hung emphasized: The Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs at all levels always fulfills the wish for the souls of heroic martyrs, which is: "What is said is done, done truly and with real results". The Association has painstakingly researched the current situation, investigated, and surveyed relatives of martyrs' families across the country.

Based on the actual survey, the Association has recommended to policy agencies at all levels to supplement and amend a number of preferential policies for martyrs and their relatives. Over the past 15 years, the Association has donated nearly 1,300 gratitude houses, repaired and upgraded 115 houses; donated nearly 4,000 savings books, 880 scholarships, 600 wheelchairs, bicycles, nearly 70,000 gifts; organized medical examinations and provided medicine to nearly 30,000 relatives of martyrs.

The Association has organized many delegations of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, relatives of martyrs, members, and outstanding philanthropists across the country to meet the President, the National Assembly Chairman, and the Government. Along with that, the Association's organizations in provinces and cities across the country organized 223 meetings with martyrs' families to express gratitude on the occasion of major holidays... with a total budget of over 180 billion VND, contributing to easing the pain left by war.

Lieutenant General Hoang Khanh Hung was moved to note that, in the 15-year journey of the Vietnam Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs, there have been many members who have devoted themselves wholeheartedly to the work of gratitude, regardless of the hard work early in the morning or noon, sometimes not having time to eat to carry out the work for the martyrs, for the relatives of the martyrs' families, all activities are aimed at repaying gratitude. Searching for the remains of comrades in the deep forest is extremely difficult, in addition to climbing passes, wading streams, snails, leeches, poisonous snakes, there is also the security situation in the deep forests and mountains, with many potential risks of instability...

Behind the impressive marks in the gratitude work are intelligence, sweat, effort, will, responsibility, the bravery of the soldier's heart, and the comradeship built with flesh and blood during the long years of war.
