Honoring 42 young people receiving Luong Dinh Cua awards

On the evening of November 12, in Soc Trang, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union held a ceremony to honor 42 "Outstanding Young Farmers" to receive the Luong Dinh Cua Award 2023 to encourage and motivate rural youth to strive to get rich, actively participate in socio -economic development, and actively and effectively contribute to the process of agricultural development and new rural construction of the country.

The core "nucleus" of new rural development

Speaking at the program, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Ngo Van Cuong acknowledged the initial results on the journey of aspiring to establish a career and start a business that rural youth have achieved.

“Each of you has a different situation and starting point, but what you all have in common is will, determination, aspiration to overcome difficulties, not to accept poverty, and determination to rise up and establish a career.

You are truly exemplary examples for young people in terms of diligence and creativity in work, and are noble symbols of millions of union members and rural youth who are competing day and night in labor, production and business, enriching themselves, their families and society, and taking the lead in building new rural areas," Mr. Ngo Van Cuong emphasized.

Mr. Ngo Van Cuong believes that individuals receiving the Luong Dinh Cua award will continue to shine, be the core nucleus in the youth start-up movement, good production and business, spread strongly, encourage generations of rural youth to enthusiastically compete in labor production to strive to get rich, actively contribute to the development in the direction of ecological agriculture, modern countryside, civilized farmers.

“I hope that the most active and effective participants in production and business, each member and young person, need to promote their youth, creativity and desire to get rich, thereby turning their aspirations into concrete actions, creating new vitality for the development of agriculture and rural areas of our country. The typical examples honored today will continue to promote their strengths, become role models, people who play a leading role in leading the youth union members around them to rise up in life,” Mr. Ngo Van Cuong advised.

The 42 young people receiving the Luong Dinh Cua Award this year are typical examples of starting a business and establishing a career in agriculture, which are bringing high economic value, revenue and profit of billions of VND each year; creating jobs for many young workers in the context of economic difficulties. In addition, the models and products are also creative, meeting export standards, implementing the program "One Commune One Product" and are welcomed by domestic and international markets.

Join hands to bring agriculture further

Sharing and exchanging at the program, Ms. Mai Thi Tuoi - Deputy Head of the national Luong Dinh Cua network said that currently, after one year of establishment, the network has regularly organized activities such as training for rural youth members, organizing exchanges, learning from each other's good economic models, organizing forums on digital agriculture to inspire students, organizing trade promotion programs, encouraging members to use each other's products...

“The young generation is developing in a favorable business environment, you should take advantage of this opportunity to pioneer innovation. Behind the award, let's actively participate and create together, together with network members we develop and take agriculture further”, said Ms. Mai Thi Tuoi.

“If you have a dream, keep going, and you will reach your destination” - The message that Ms. Tran Thi Diu - Director of An Phat Trading and Service Company Limited conveyed also illustrated her own entrepreneurial journey. Born and raised in the Central Highlands, Ms. Tran Thi Diu was always troubled when witnessing the hardships of farmers when “the harvest is good, the price is low” or when agricultural products cannot be preserved.

Therefore, she has developed the process of drying macadamia nuts, freeze-drying durian grains, etc. to help increase the value of local agricultural products. At the program, Ms. Diu said that she has been developing more in-depth products to motivate and increase income for people and encourage the entrepreneurial spirit of rural youth.

“I think that to start a business, young people need to have a strong will, creative thinking, a spirit of improving product quality and a mission to solve social problems,” said Ms. Tran Thi Diu.

Ms. Tran Thi Diu also won First Prize in the 2023 Rural Youth Entrepreneurship Project with the Freeze-dried Durian Cereal project.

Speaking at the program, Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quang Phuong - Vice Chairman of the National Assembly acknowledged that the achievements of more than 30 years of national renovation have a great role of more than 16 million rural youth. This is a large and pioneering force in building new rural areas, protecting the environment, responding to climate change and developing the country sustainably.

In the coming time, Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quang Phuong suggested that the Youth Union at all levels should continue to encourage and motivate young people to enthusiastically compete in creative labor, do good business, promote research activities, apply scientific and technological advances in production in the fields of agriculture, forestry and fishery, especially the application of high technology, apply digital transformation in production to contribute to improving labor productivity, reducing production costs, saving resources and protecting the environment, increasing the competitiveness of goods, improving income and quality of life for rural youth and people.

“The Youth Union needs to encourage and support rural youth to start businesses; expand forms of association and cooperation in economic development among youth; replicate creative and effective models, develop economic models such as: small and medium enterprises; cooperatives, youth cooperative groups; young farms, teams of young intellectuals volunteering to develop agriculture, rural areas, mountainous areas, borders, and islands,” said Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quang Phuong.

The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly hopes that, in the 2022 - 2027 term, with the spirit of volunteerism, dedication, daring to think, knowing how to do, the Youth Union at all levels will propose many new models and ways to contribute to the common movement of young people and children nationwide. "I believe that union members, young people, and excellent young farmers will continue to promote the fine traditions of their homeland, bring all the enthusiasm and creativity of youth, volunteer to successfully complete the programs and goals set by their organizations," Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quang Phuong concluded.

From November 11 to 13, 2023, in Soc Trang City (Soc Trang Province), the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, in collaboration with Sabeco, organized the "National Rural Youth Festival and the 18th Luong Dinh Cua Award Ceremony in 2023".
