The event aims to recognize and honor the new generation of farmers who have achieved outstanding results in production, business, rural development, and national security protection movements; and to honor scientists with innovative scientific inventions that have been applied and brought high socio-economic benefits to agricultural production. The program is organized by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Association , in collaboration with the Nong Thon Ngay Nay/Dan Viet newspaper and sponsoring units.

The Organizing Committee announced that the 63 most outstanding Vietnamese farmers of this year were selected from 100 nominations from provinces and cities. The Organizing Committee decided to award the title to both outstanding farmers and scientists for farmers to demonstrate the organic and close link between the 'two sides' – farmers and scientists; between research and technology transfer on one side and application and production on the other. Especially with the Politburo 's issuance of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation, and digital transformation, honoring scientists who have made significant contributions to farmers on this occasion takes on even greater significance."
