U22 Vietnam denies suspicions of colluding with Malaysia to eliminate Indonesia at SEA Games 33

“I watched the match where Indonesia lost to the Philippines. For me personally and for the whole team, there is no such thing as a draw in the match against Malaysia. We are aiming for victory,” Quoc Cuong shared.

In Group B, Vietnam U22 is tied with Malaysia U22 with 3 points but is in second place due to an inferior goal difference. Laos U22 has been officially eliminated after two losses. Since Indonesia U22 unexpectedly lost to the Philippines U22, coach Kim Sang-sik's team only needs a draw to secure a place in the semi-finals.

The head coach of the Indonesian U22 team is therefore concerned about the possibility of the Vietnamese and Malaysian U22 teams colluding to eliminate them. However, Quoc stated that he and his teammates have only one goal: to win.

Quoc Cuong is known to be the cousin of former HAGL striker Nguyen Cong Phuong. He said that this is not a pressure, but rather a motivation for him to strive. Wearing the U22 Vietnam jersey is a source of pride for him.
