The People's Committee of Ba Ria-Vung Tau province urgently directed

The People's Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province has just issued an urgent document to the Department of Internal Affairs, the Department of Education and Training, the Department of Health, the People's Committee of Chau Duc district and other districts, towns and cities in the province, requesting them to urgently clarify and strictly handle all violations that occurred at Anh Duong Kindergarten (Chau Duc district).

According to the People's Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, following media reports about alleged substandard and inadequate meals for teachers at Anh Duong Kindergarten, the province issued a document on September 18th requesting Chau Duc district to verify and clarify the matter and report back before September 19th. However, to date, no report on the handling of the case has been received.

The Chairman of the Chau Duc District People's Committee held a dialogue with the teachers of Anh Duong Kindergarten who accused the principal of cutting back on food rations and other issues.

In order to continue implementing the directives of the Provincial Party Committee, which require clarification and strict, decisive handling of violations occurring at Nguyen Du High School and Anh Duong Kindergarten in Chau Duc district.

The Provincial People's Committee requests Chau Duc district to urgently verify and clarify the content of the above-mentioned incident, and at the same time strictly handle any violations (if any) in accordance with the law, ensuring a decisive and thorough handling, without evasion, cover-up, or superficial response; and to report the results of the handling to the Provincial People's Committee no later than October 14th.

The document also requires departments, agencies, and localities to be responsible for implementing the province's directives, paying particular attention to comprehensively rectifying the entire education sector in the province regarding the implementation of boarding school programs in schools, ensuring food safety and hygiene and the quality of boarding meals for students and teachers, especially in primary and preschool levels.

Previously, at the 22nd meeting of the Executive Committee of the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Party Committee, the Secretary of the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Party Committee, Pham Viet Thanh, instructed the locality to quickly clarify the violations and handle them strictly, emphasizing that there could be no delay just because the principal was hospitalized. "We must ensure that the policies of the province for kindergartens and preschools reach the intended beneficiaries. We cannot allow personal relationships to lead to irresponsibility and the distortion of provincial policies," the Secretary of the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Party Committee stated frankly.

One of the meals the school teachers ate included, in addition to this, a portion of vegetable soup that was left out.

According to Mr. Pham Viet Thanh, the province's policy, issued to balance and reduce budget spending, focuses on education, with the aim of benefiting the people. Therefore, there can be no negligence, indifference, or laxity. Consequently, the Secretary of the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Party Committee requested that corrective measures be taken, and criticism should be implemented if necessary.

Previously, there were reports that after being accused by teachers at Anh Duong Kindergarten, the school principal had to undergo medical treatment due to illness, which made the inspection process difficult.

As reported by Nguoi Lao Dong newspaper, teachers and staff at Anh Duong Kindergarten in Chau Duc district complained that the 30,000 VND lunch tray only contained rice and two pieces of sausage, with a little fish sauce. Some other trays had rice and a few pieces of stir-fried meat with bamboo shoots. This situation is not new but has been going on for many months.

The Chairman of the Chau Duc District People's Committee requested an investigation into the reported incident. Subsequently, the teachers and staff were unexpectedly reimbursed for their meal allowances, after deducting the meals provided during the first week.

Chau Duc District also held a dialogue with teachers and staff at the school, where many expressed their frustration with the school principal; the meals were appalling; and there were irregularities in the financial management. Many teachers broke down in tears when mentioning meals consisting only of rice and a few pieces of fish cake or pork sausage… no one dared to speak up for fear of retaliation or damage to their jobs.

Following the dialogue, the Chau Duc District People's Committee decided to conduct a comprehensive inspection of Anh Duong Kindergarten. During the inspection, if any violations are found, the inspection team will temporarily suspend the principal's duties in accordance with regulations.
