
Pavlo Petrychenko, commander of the drone unit of Ukraine's 59th Mechanized Brigade, told CNN that Ukraine needs to destroy those weapons systems in order to sustain its fight to reclaim territory from Russia.
They are called "non-gunpowder weapons" because they don't require explosives but can still inflict significant damage on the enemy.
According to The Economist, Ukraine realized in March that its Excalibur GPS-guided artillery shells were starting to miss their targets, and the same was happening with the US-supplied JDAM-ER guided bombs.
Leaked Pentagon documents from April revealed U.S. concerns that Russian jamming was reducing the accuracy of U.S.-made weapons that Ukraine was deploying.
He also acknowledged that Russia is surpassing Ukraine in improving these capabilities.
