National Assembly Standing Committee: Questioning groups of issues in the fields of finance and diplomacy

On March 18, at the 31st session chaired by Comrade Vuong Dinh Hue, Politburo member and Chairman of the National Assembly, the National Assembly Standing Committee organized a question-and-answer session on financial and diplomatic issues online from the National Assembly House to 62 connecting points in provinces and cities.

In his opening speech, Comrade Vuong Dinh Hue, Politburo member and Chairman of the National Assembly, emphasized: Since the beginning of the term, the National Assembly Standing Committee has questioned 21 ministers of ministries and branches, and the groups of questions have covered most of life's issues. The selection of the groups of questions at this session was carefully considered based on the synthesis of information sources and proposals from National Assembly delegations, opinions of National Assembly deputies, and a review of the scope of questions at meetings since the beginning of the term, while also taking into account the practical situation to create conditions for all ministers to participate in answering questions. He requested that the National Assembly deputies ask questions that go straight to the point, and that the ministers uphold their sense of responsibility, answer briefly and to the point, clarify the questions raised by the National Assembly deputies, propose appropriate solutions, promptly resolve and resolve outstanding issues in the management field, and meet the trust and expectations of the people and voters nationwide. At the end of the questioning session, the National Assembly Standing Committee will issue a resolution to serve as a basis for implementation and supervision.

In the morning session, under the direction of comrade Nguyen Duc Hai, member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, National Assembly deputies questioned comrade Ho Duc Phoc, member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Finance on the management and supervision of insurance business activities and service activities in the field of life insurance business; the appraisal and licensing of companies providing financial services; the implementation of laws on lottery, betting, casino and electronic games with prizes; price management and price determination of goods and services in the list of goods and services priced by the State.

In the afternoon, under the direction of comrade Nguyen Khac Dinh, member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, National Assembly deputies questioned comrade Bui Thanh Son, member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Foreign Affairs on the protection of Vietnamese citizens abroad; the situation of law violations by Vietnamese citizens abroad and foreigners in Vietnam; protection of the legitimate rights and interests of Vietnamese fishermen. The current situation of implementing bilateral and multilateral agreements and solutions to promote the implementation of economic, trade and investment cooperation agreements; support for expanding export markets, supporting Vietnamese enterprises to avoid fraud. Activities to promote and advertise Vietnamese tourism to the world and visa exemption for citizens of other countries entering Vietnam to develop tourism. Management, arrangement, consolidation, improvement of qualifications and organizational capacity of the diplomatic sector (including Vietnamese representative agencies abroad). Solutions to strengthen the prevention and fight against corruption and negativity in diplomatic activities.

Concluding the question and answer session, Comrade Nguyen Khac Dinh, Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, emphasized: There were 69 delegates registered to question and debate, of which 5 delegates debated with a total of 86 questions and issues that the National Assembly delegates were interested in. The National Assembly delegates had carefully prepared questions with practical content. The Ministers of Finance and Foreign Affairs seriously acknowledged and answered with focus, clearly pointing out the causes of the existing problems and limitations, and at the same time proposing solutions to overcome them in the coming time.

He agreed and acknowledged the solutions that the Ministers had committed to implementing in the coming time; at the same time, he requested the Government, the Ministers of Finance and Foreign Affairs, and relevant ministers to fully absorb the opinions of the National Assembly deputies and resolutely direct the proposed solutions. In particular, it is necessary to continue to perfect the legal system and organize synchronous implementation in all fields; perfect measures to organize state management, clearly define the responsibilities of the Government, each ministry, branch, and locality, promote the principle of coordination in implementation; promote the role of financial service industry associations, promote the professional ethics of service practitioners, organizations and individuals as well as the responsibility of members in strictly complying with the State's laws.

In the field of diplomacy, he requested relevant agencies to focus on implementing bilateral and multilateral agreements and commitments, supporting localities and businesses; on international integration and linkage; cultural diplomacy, tourism development, visa exemption policy; on work with overseas Vietnamese and citizen protection; perfecting the organizational apparatus, and improving the quality of diplomatic staff.
