Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Foreign Minister Le Thi Thu Hang affirmed that over the past 50 years, Germany has always been one of Vietnam's leading important partners in Europe. "50 years may not be a long journey, but it is a meaningful period when Germany has accompanied Vietnam in difficult times after the country's reunification, in the Doi Moi process and in the current socio-economic development," said Deputy Foreign Minister Le Thi Thu Hang.

“The fact that up to 40 German organizations and businesses, along with representatives from the three states of Bremen, Hessen and Thuringia, participated in the Festival shows that the Vietnam-Germany relationship is developing very well. I hope that the two countries will continue to promote international cooperation for peace, stability, security and sustainable development, while effectively responding to global challenges such as climate change, food security, energy and epidemics,” Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang emphasized.

On the German side, Ms. Helga Margarete Barth, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Vietnam, affirmed that the German Festival is one of the most prominent activities in the series of events celebrating the 50th anniversary of bilateral relations. “We wish to bring the commemorative activities to many localities of Vietnam, not just focusing on Hanoi,” said Ms. Helga Margarete Barth.

According to Ambassador Helga Margarete Barth, the “Career Guidance Bus” is a vivid demonstration of educational cooperation between the two countries. The bus has traveled through many provinces and cities in Vietnam to introduce study and work opportunities in Germany to young people. This weekend, the program will be present in the Hoan Kiem Lake area to directly advise those interested in studying or learning a trade in Germany.

Ms. Helga Margarete Barth added that through the German Festival, the German side wishes to present a comprehensive picture of the Vietnam-Germany strategic partnership, reflected through diverse activities over the past year. “I am particularly pleased that nearly 40 German organizations and businesses in many fields from economics, culture, science to sports participated in the Festival. In particular, the three states of Bremen, Hessen and Thuringia also participated to introduce their outstanding contributions to bilateral relations,” Ms. Helga Margarete Barth shared.

The German Festival 2025 is not only a diplomatic commemorative activity, but also a cultural, economic and humanitarian bridge between the two nations, contributing to strengthening the increasingly deep Vietnam - Germany strategic partnership, towards a future of sustainable development and common prosperity.
