This afternoon, Zhao Leji, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China, arrived in Hanoi , the capital of Vietnam, to begin his official visit to the country.
Mr. Zhao Leji will attend the commemoration ceremony, parade, and march marking the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2nd; and co-chair the first session of the Cooperation Committee between the National Assembly of Vietnam and the National People's Congress of China.
The trip took place at the invitation of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Chairman of the National Assembly, Tran Thanh Man.
Welcoming the delegation at Noi Bai International Airport were: Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Quang Phuong; Deputy Chief of the Central Party Office Dang Khanh Toan; Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Anh Tuan; and Vice Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee on National Defense, Security and Foreign Affairs Don Tuan Phong.

Accompanying the Chairman of the National People's Congress of China, Zhao Leji, on his official visit to Vietnam were: Secretary-General of the National People's Congress of China, Liu Qi; Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the National People's Congress of China, Lou Qinjian; Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam, He Wei; Deputy Head of the International Liaison Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Ma Hui; Deputy Chairman of the Economic and Financial Commission of the National People's Congress of China, Ong Jieming; Deputy Secretary-General of the National People's Congress of China, Hu Xiaolei; Deputy Chairman of the Education, Science, Culture and Health Commission of the National People's Congress of China, Li Jinghai; Deputy Chairman of the Legal Affairs Commission of the National People's Congress of China, Sun Zhenping; Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs of China, Zhao Zhiyuan; Deputy Secretary-General of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China, Zong Rui; Deputy Director of the Central Security Bureau of the Communist Party of China, Lu Xianchun; and Cao Yi, Assistant to the Chairman of the National People's Congress of China, Zhao Leji.
This afternoon, Chairman of the National People's Congress of China Zhao Leji will attend a welcoming ceremony and hold talks with Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man. The two leaders will co-chair the first session of the Cooperation Committee between the National Assembly of Vietnam and the National People's Congress of China.
Mr. Trieu Lac Te will have meetings with other key Vietnamese leaders and participate in many other important activities. In particular, he will attend the 80th anniversary celebration of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2nd at Ba Dinh Square.
Prior to the visit, Vietnamese Ambassador to China Pham Thanh Binh stated that the visit clearly demonstrates the mutual respect and strong political determination of the two countries in consolidating and deepening the Vietnam-China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

The visit of the top leader of the National People's Congress of China to Vietnam, and especially the first time co-chairing the meeting of the Cooperation Committee between the National Assembly of Vietnam and the National People's Congress of China with the Chairman of the Vietnamese National Assembly, not only contributes to promoting cooperation in the legislative field, but also highlights and further emphasizes the rich achievements in the foreign relations and diplomacy channels of the Party, State, Government, National Assembly, and people.
This will strengthen the solid political foundation for cooperation in all fields such as political-diplomatic relations, defense-security, trade, investment, science-technology, and people-to-people exchanges, leading to the development of bilateral relations in a more solid, stable, substantive, and effective direction.
Meanwhile, Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam He Wei said that Chairman Zhao Leji's visit was an opportunity for the Chinese Party and Government to send warm congratulations to the Vietnamese Party and Government on the occasion of the 80th National Day, demonstrating China's appreciation for the relationship between the two Parties and countries and the strategically significant promotion of building a China-Vietnam Community with a shared future.
The visit demonstrates China's strong support and close ties with Vietnam; affirming a clear message of mutual support, jointly steadfastly pursuing the socialist path, implementing the common understanding of the high-level leaders of the two Parties and two countries, and building a China-Vietnam Community with a shared future of strategic significance at a new level.
