The Vera Wang brand has been independently owned since its founding in 1990, with designer Vera Wang as sole owner and reporting annual sales of more than $700 million.
The WHP Global management team has acquired the brand's IP and announced it to the media. As part of the deal, designer Vera Wang will remain as founder and creative director of the brand and join WHP as a shareholder. The group also owns fashion brands including Rag & Bone, G-Star, Isaac Mizrahi, Anne Klein, Bonobos and Joe's Jeans, children's retailer Toys R Us and, as of June, shopping mall brand Express. The remaining terms of the Vera Wang deal were not disclosed.
